Remarks

College has improved a lot in the recent years but the campus would have been better if there were more trees. On the brighter side, the college library and canteen are very good.

Entrance Preview

The entrance I took was CET-K (Common Entrance Test - Karnataka). It is a generalized test for the pre university students of Karnataka where rankings are allotted based on merit. My ranking was around 14k.And I chose the course as I was passionate towards Mechanical Engineering.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Our college is affiliated to Vishveshwariah Technological University(VTU), Belgaum. The course curriculum is good with equal importance given to both Theory and Practicals.

Internships Opportunities

I haven't interned as of yet. But my seniors have interned in various companies with stipend around 6000-10000 rupees. The companies which offered internships are BOSCH, BMRCL, MindTech and various other industries. However, there is also an eligibility criteria which varies from company to company.

Placement Experience

4.5

Every company has their own eligibility criteria of their own and in VTU it usually is "Aggregate of 60% and No Backlogs".In our college, 96% of the eligible students had been placed in last academic year. Around 60 companies came to the campus and avg. pay package was 3.4L.While TCS, Infosys, HCL, Tech Mahindra and other companies offered 3.4L, Companies like Cognizant, MuSigma offered 6L.

College Events

4

College has 3 festivals of which two are official. Every year there will be a Tech Fest and a Cultural fest - Esperanza. And unofficially a Ganesha Festival will be celebrated for five days with inter-departmental cultural programs! Participation is quite good and everybody takes part in it. Students are enthusiastic.

Fee Structure And Facilities

There are 4 hostel buildings owned by college and 2 other co-owned by college. College hostel fees is 90000/- p.a! And PG fee is 70000/- p.a! Rooms are spacious and only 3 students per room. Study tables, wardrobes and bunker beds of good quality are provided. Mess food is good with different varieties on different days.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes. The college waives off the fee for top rankers in the entrance exams. For second toppers, 50% of the fee is waived off. The govt. offers scholarship for students whose family income is less than 1L p.a. Various other scholarship programs are offered by many other programs. College encourages such scholarships.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus is huge built on 10 acres of land in city outskirts. Has scenic view and lots of places to hang around. Gender ratio is good and almost equal except for Mechanical and Civil Engineering branches. The crowd is diverse with students from all over the country and there are international students in Management studies. Extra-curricular activities are good and labs are very good with all the required equipments. It will always be open for research avtivities. Sports is encouraged to an extent. However, the strident groups organize Cricket, Football and Basketball tournaments regularly.

Alumni/Alumna

The College is only 5 years old and since only one batch has passed out, there isn't an alumni network as of now. But by the time I complete my course, the network would be strong and function towards the college developmental activities. Senior students are very helpful.

Faculty

4

All faculty members are post graduates and many are PhD holders in their respective fields. They are friendly and encouraging.

Placement Experience:

Placements at RNS Institute of Technology are good. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th or 7th semester. Many companies visit the college, including IT and core companies. Some of the common recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and a few core companies for EEE. The average package is around 3 to 5 LPA, and higher packages are also offered for top-performing students. The highest package can go much higher depending on the company. Around 70–80% of students get placed, mainly in IT roles. For EEE students, core placements are limited, but there are good opportunities in software roles. The college also provides training and support for placements. After completing my degree, I plan to get placed in a good company and build my career.

Placement Experience:

Most of the students get placed from the campus placements. Students get eligible for campus placements from the fifth semester. Companies like HP, Infosys, Wipro come for recruiting and make offers from 3L per annum to 30 L per annum. Around 70 percent of the students get placed through campus placement. I plan on working for a dream company after completing my degree.
