Course Curriculum Overview

4

Physics is a very interesting subject. I was influenced to take this from my school level. Specially i liked Nuclear Physics nd Astrophysics. This 3 year curiculum helped us to know physics very deeply. All basic topics, which are must required to go further in research field, are included in the syllabus. without knowing all these, we can't go deeper in this field. The exams should be properly after 6 months. sometimes it hapens within 3 months, which creates a big difficulty.

Internships Opportunities

1

as previously said, there was no placement facility available in the college campuss. I did not do any internship in this period. If the facility was available, I would obviously take the opportunity.

Placement Experience

1

There is no placemenet facility available here. But after passing out, students can apply for offcampuss placements. It will be very great if placements start here. After completing my graduation, I have completed my masters and now trying to find a job.

Fees and Financial Aid

The admission fees was around Rs.2600 in semester 1. Then the semester fees in 2nd,3rd,4th,5th and 6th semester was around Rs.2000 each and in each of the semester there were examination fees around Rs. 200 to Rs.400. It was same for all categories. It included admission fees (around Rs.100), Tution fees(Rs. 200-250), Developement fees(Rs.300-350) Electricity, generator ( Rs.100), Library charge around Rs.500, practical fees around Rs.200 and festival, medical,,maintainace and misc. fees total around Rs. 100 to 200. The scholarship I used to receive was SVMCM that was 18K per year.

Campus Life

4

There is only one festival called JAGRITI. It usually happens in December. It is a two days programme where both cultural and technical events meet. In winter there is Winter Sports in college ground. The library has a great number of books along with latest journals. There are smart classrooms in every department. Our college is very much active in sports.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels provide sharing rooms. 4 studens used t share a big size room. 4 times good quality meal is provided and it is very much affordable. As I have not lived in hostel, I dont know much detail but a PG single room would cost around 3K without fooding.

Admission

I choosed this college as it was very near to my house. It has a great faculty and well known alumni. And it is a very famous college. the whole admisssion process was done online. To apply in this particular course, someone must have pass class 12 exam with science( must have physics ). Cutoffs are almost 82-85% of thei HS marks for general students.

Faculty

5

Department provided us a very good ratio of faculty to students. It was 5:1 that's impressive. Favulties are very much approachablewe can contact them whenever we need. All the respectable professors were very helpful. Their ability of clearing all the concepts was so good that we understood that very easily. Specially Prof. Atanu Dan & Dr. Oindrila Mondal are best according to me. There were total 6 semesters. in each semester we had to attain one mid semester exam and one end semester exam. It was very much relevant in this curriculum. Most of the students used to pass.

Interview Experience

5

No, there were no admission test. It was totally based upon the marks we scored in the 12th Board exams. The overall percentage and the particular marks in the subject (Physics) was calculated and based on this, the merit list was published.

Night Life

1

it has gym facility, several canteens having good quality food, library with large number of books. There are 3 hostels in the campuss. Students must enter before 6pm, after that gates are closed. In night, going out in strictly prohibited.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I've always found economics to be really interesting and thats why I choose to persue it. I wanted to dive deep into the actual concepts and workings of the economy and understand how the world works from an economist's point of view. Sadly the curriculam doesnt bridge the gap between theory and real life. It focuses heavily on textbook and not how the world works.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course is good but you have to opt for masters and PhD to get a good placement. After bsc there's not any placement. The curriculum was basically practical and theoretical based. But I think it should be more practical so that we can get a job after doing bsc. The teaching method was good I didn't have any problem with that. As it was under Calcutta University so the exam questions were too difficult, sometimes it came out of our syllabus , i think they should change this a little bit .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus for BSc. Microbiology Hons. was in line with my interests. Few topics like virology, bacteriology, and diversity of the microbial workd are what drew my attention to pick this course. Although there are some portions which one would consider "boring", but I believe every subject has its interesting as well as boring portions. It's seems fair to judge a subject by seeing if the "boring" portions outweigh the "interesting" parts or not.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In terms of relevance and comprehensiveness of the course curriculum, my rating is solid 4.1 out of 5. Because it offers a variety of courses like compulsory english, environmental science, constitution values of India, Inter Disciplinary Courses where one can opt for a variety of subjects which change along with the course proceeds or semester changes. Not only that two major papers and one minor paper are present throughout the semester. As a student we should be well aware of our country and its law as well as how we can keep our environment healthy followed by sustainable development.
