I chose English as my Honours course. Because I feel confident about it. 80% was the requirement to get the admission in our college. And there wasn't any entrance exam for it. As it was based on our 12th Standard's grade. So, as my percentage was fulfilling the requirement, I got the admission successfully.

Fees and Financial Aid

It is very affordable! Every middle class family can afford studying here in our college. It is the best women's college I've encountered. I'm very happy. And I don't know much about the scholarships because as I come under General cast so I don't have much scope to get any kind of government free scholarship.

Campus Life

My college has the best library I've ever seen. It is very much study friendly. I was very happy when for the first time I went there. All kind of necessary books are available there. And our college fest was amazing. I really have enjoyed a lot. Also I took part in the cultural competition that was before the cultural fest. And I am very proud to be a part of it.

Admission

First of all, we had to apply for the admission through online. We had to go to the College's official website and then apply. After that, the college authority published their merit list. They publish upto 3 merit lists. My name was published in the 3rd merit list. And then, after getting selected. We had to pay the Admission fees through UPI. Then, we got a notice regarding the document verification. We had to come to the college in person to verify our documents. And therefore, when our documents were successfully verified, we were admitted as the College's fresh students.

Presidency University: A hope of light but needs a lot of upgradation

Course Curriculum Overview:

The Department of Bengali is one of the oldest Bengali department in the state. It offers undergraduate honours and postgraduate courses. Recently, they have started PhD courses as well. The Bengali department is actively engaged in research in hot topics in literature. The curriculam of Presidency university is most diverse among all other University, colleges in the state. It begins with very basic topics at the first year and ends with very specific research level papers at the final year. The syllabus is so advance that bachelors students can compare themselves with the masters level students after completeing the course. I will mention the bachelor course curriculam in summary: Semester I- Prachin Bangla Sahitya O Bangalir Itihas sandhan, Bangla bhasar itihas o bhasatotto, Semester II- Prak chaitanya juger bangla sahityer itihas, Madhyajuger bangla sahityer itihas o kabyapath, Semester III- Shorosh o soptodosh shotabdir samaj: itihas o chaitanyadeb, Ashtadosh shatabdir samaj sangkriti, changa-alanlkar o prof sangsodhan, Semester IV- Adhunik juger udbhab, gadya o probondho sahitya, kabya-kabitae itihas, natoker itihas o rupbhed, Semester V- Bangla Upanyas, Bangla chotogolpo, Rabindranath, Semester VI- Unish o Bish shataker bangla samaj songskriti o sahitya, bhinna bhasar sahityer itihas o tar obhighat, bharatiya alangkar shatra, sahitya o shilpo. Other than these compulsory courses, there are lot of exceptional elective courses that attracted me more towards joining this prestigious university. Since Presidency University select specific students through their difficult entrance tests, the semester exams should not be difficult for the students, but there are some papers in the course which needs to delt with extra care and attention to get extra marks.

St Xavier’s Calcutta . Is it worth it?

Placement Experience:

Placements in our college are very brilliant but there's a downside to it'. If you do bcom from Sxc cal either morning or evening batch, you are going to have an amazing and stable financial situation. But in English , don't expect earning a big salary. In campus placements exist for English students as professors. Many (almost all) of our professors are ex students of st Xavier's Calcutta.

Yes, I applied to MUC Women's College. This college is a really good, low-cost hotel good. The study is well and the library is awesome. There are Kanyashree and also OBC Kota and recently student credit cards are also available. There is no complex about any admission. You can easily admit it after paying your admission fees. The admission fees are low and as well as science commerce is also. In the Geography field, you have to go survey. This is really outstanding. Minimum number is required above 80-85% of all subjects. If you get 95% so you get easily. 1 day will counsel then you admit. Overall it's a good college for girls. No ragging No political issue. Good nature for Study. The best subject for studies here is English, as well as Math, Chemistry, Biology, Nutrition, Physics, Computer Science, Bengali, Sanskrit, Philosophy.
