DTU is an awesome college

I loved DTU. It is a college which is good in every aspect. Moreover it is in Delhi which adds to its strength and atmosphere. If I would get a chance to choose between IIT or DTU, I would opt for it once again as it is an awesome campus, college with placements matching to the standards of IITs.

Course curriculum is somewhat lineant as compared to other colleges. It is very liberal and gives the students enough time to participate in other activities too along with the studies. Exam structure is almost same as other colleges. As we have 1 mid sem and 1 end sem in each semester.

Placements are very very good. There are more companies than number of students applying. Each students has an offer of he wants to sit in placements. All the renowned names of the world and leading companies in each field boat the campus for placements.

Events are celebrated all the year round in the college. Every month there something or other happening. Engifest is the biggest cultural fest of North India. You would be busy all the year round celebrating events, tech fests and cultural fests.

Fee structure is somewhat expensive from other government colleges but it is feasible owing to its location and facilities and an awesome campus. The difference is not too much hence it should not be a matter of concern I think.

DTU gives a lot of scholarships. You can check it on their we site which is regularly updated. I have availed MHRD scholarship through GATE. But it is given in every college where we take admission through GATE. Many other scholarships based in merit, reservation etc are available. International scholarships are also there.

Sports are very good. There is a dedicated sports complex having a running track of international standards. Gym is awesome, 2 in number. Indoors games are there. But some games like snooker squash are missing. Also, swimming pool is not there. Labs are well equipped with any type of work you want to do there.

DTU has a strong alumni network. Paytm founder Vijay shekhar sharma, Actor Sushant singh rajput and many more are alumni of this college. Seniors are very helpful and friendly. There are many events which facilitate the interaction of seniors and juniors. Overall. There is a very healthy environment.

Admission in DTU is totally on merit basis. Firstly we have to give an exam called GATE for Mtech. According to this a merit list is created and Counselling is done for students who have filled the form available on website at the time of admission. If your name is on merit list, we can claim the admission to the respective branch.

Faculty is very good and renowned. I was in civil engineering and most of the faculty is very experienced and Upsc appointed. Almost all the senior professors are Phds with a high teaching expertise and experience.
