What Students Say

Likes

Campus is very big with full greenery and pollution free air. Everything is available within the campus itself. Ragging free campus. Have good sports facilities.
Teachers are well qualified and easy to talk and approch to clear queries.
Very active in events and fests. ICS is also there for mental health of students

Dislikes

Very less interaction with seniors in 1st semester.
So much greenery bring insects. They can be seen anywhere from your room to outside area
No freshers party and Club inductions are held in 2nd sem not first

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is very much relevant just in 1st year you would feel why are you studying all these subjects like biology and all but these are taught to give you a basic touch and understanding for all things a engineer should know.

Placement Experience

Placement record of NIT Rourkela is good. It is among the top 3 nit . Placement of tech are avg around 15-16 lakhs. While in core like civil it is around 9 lakhs. Highest package in cse was very high above 80 lakhs last year. Just placements in core field is a little hard to get

Tution fees per sem is 62500 Mess fees is 30000 Hostel rent 5000 Other 5000 Caution fees 10000(refundable) We pay around 1 lakh 10 thousand per sem as a general candidate Tution fees of SC/ST/PH/ family income less than 1 lakh get full tution fees waiver Candidates with family income less than 5 lakhs gets 2/3 waiver on tution fees i.e they need to pay 20,833 as tution fee Many scholarship are provided by state and college alumni according to need and merit of students

Campus Life

Here Campus Life is the best that u can get . You will get everything u saw in those reels and videos. 2 main fests of NITRKL are COSMO cultural fest and Innovision the tech fest. There are many clubs and activities and sports to keep you engaged.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel here are quite decent. You can get 1 seater 2 seater 3 seater or even 4 seater room based on your performance. Hostel is what makes college life best. It has good wifi connection and have all facilities like reading room common room gym washing area etc. Mess food is quite decent. I am from north india and I can adjust with the food

Hostel Fee: INR 100000 per year

Admission

I got this college by jossa councling I also applied for nit Trichy but got rejected because my rank was not that good. This is a college of national importance and admission process is based on rank In jee mains and availability of seats by jossa and csab

Faculty

Faculties are much better than what u see in movies. They are easy to talk and highly qualified. We get assignments and tests and class notes in every course and it is duable to get a good grade if I do these things properly 2 exams mid sem and end sem takes place every sem to determine your cgpa . Some class tests also happens

Night Life

There are no restrictions as a girl too you can have fun with your friends at 10pm in campus. It is completely safe and we have huge campus to spend quality time at night. Campus is always busy and active

Placements are quite good. Thats precisely why i chose this college . The highest offer last year was 52 lpa . Other than that average package is 6 to 8 lpa for cse students . Mostly all students get placed . A few companies that come for placements are Infosys, TCS , JP Morgan , Deloitte , Bookings holidays , Cognizant, Accenture .

Placement Experience:

After 3rd semester the students are eligible for internship but after 4th sem the students are eligible for Plecement. More the 95% students get the placements. Highest package is aprox Rs.4300000 and lowest is 300000. My plan is for higher studies after getting degree.

ITER SOA is quite intimidating!!

Placement Experience:

IBM, Siemens, Philips and many other companies and even the chio makers and computer makers are also one of the main share holders in placements. For CSE department the average placements are of 15-20 lakhs but for our department the average drops down to 6 lakhs per annum.

Honest and Genuine review of NIT Rourkela

So I choose these college over the others because of its relevant name and the hype of this college In India as It is Institute of national importance And also a government backed college and it is one of the most demanded college. So the colleges which I have applied to are DTU, NSUT, Nit Trichy, Nit Warangal, Nit Surat Kal And top 7 iits. No I was not rejected from the other college which I have applied to but the combination of branching and the college value Doesn't satisfied me for taking admission in that colleges. So the admission process for the Nit Rourkela Is that the eligibility criteria is 75% in 12th class And second criteria is to clear the entrance exam which is the JEE mains and also scoring a very good marks in it. Then by the centralised Josaa Counselling student will fill their choices ,lock and get allotments in the upcoming rounds of the josaa counselling. The ending rank to take admission in this college in the EC branch is about a 6000-7000 rank in the jee mains exam for the other state people. Everything about NIT ROURKELA ( campus life, placements, fees )

The best aspects of the college is the campus. It's the second largest campus in India. A lush green campus with a very good mess facilities. The buildings are great. Hostels are also good. Evrything about infrastructure was a plus point. Only negative point is the non availability of airport due to which some companies refuse to come a pick students.
