What Students Say
Likes
- I personally liked the cleanliness in the campus, even the hostels, they offer good food, maybe not the best, but decent, good food.
- There is no ragging in the college, the thing for which i was most afraid of
- The overall faculty, not only the teaching ones, all the faculty in the college are cooperative and friendly, which helps a lot to adjust to new environment
Dislikes
- The majority is of punjab people in the college and most them are weak in english language as well, which is not a easy task for foreign students
- The college is little slow in giving notices and reminders about fee payments,
- My own dislike, is not letting boys and girls together in any events, there is always a barricade
Course Curriculum Overview
The difficulty level of the first semester is medium, it was easy for me, to study just one week before the exams, which gives us chance to attend any events or do any other internships of our own, which is a great help for us in the future, myself i don't really need a placement fron the college, as i want join the defense forces, so for me the course syllabus must be good enough, and i can't talk much about this, because my core subjects have not started yet.
Fees and Financial Aid
I have opted for mechatronics engineering, which is not a commonly chosen major for students, The general tuition fee for one semester is 103500/- (approx) , for non-cse course, I have also given the university entrance exam CUCET, through which i have gotten a scholarship of 15%, due to which , My tuition fee for one semester is 88400/-(approx). The entrance exam fee is 1000/- , which is nominal fee for almost all private university entrance examinations in india. The examination fee for each semester again is 2500/-. I do not have a reservation, so i don't know if there is any change of this fee for them, with reservation. There is also a way to get into the university through your 12th board marks, deciding your scholarship, or the last way is through your jee mains score, The overall fees is affordable compared to some other private universities in india.
Campus Life
The events is this college are just constantly happening, and gives a chance for everyone to participate, the library is the best place in the college if you want to study, and the clubs are very interesting too, i have joined the young oraters club, through which i thought i could improve my public speaking skills, we do have a sports Complex offering several sports coaching as well , but i didn't visi there till now
Hostel Facilities
We get a steel bed and one study table and one almirah, for storage which is quite enough for all the clothes and snacks, the hostel is food is good enough, and non-veg is available for 2days a week, even if we dont like a particular day mess meal, we could just get what we want in the canteens or could also order food through food delivery apps.
Admission
I actually wanted to join the nda (national defense academy), which was actually the best one relating my dream, but couldn't clear the entrance, then i also tried some local colleges and VIT vellore through different online entrance exams, which i have qualified .but, none of them offered mechatronics course and also NCC (national cadet corps), hence i decided this college which was offering the things i needed and was budget friendly
Faculty
The teaching faculty are good with respect to the syllabus, and strictly follow the syllabus, and most of the teachers are from punjab, but the thing i did not face, is that all my teachers till now only teach in english which was a relief for me, as i am bit weak in understanding hindi, i also have good relationship with the teachers, they made me a CR(class representative) in the first semester itself, which is not easy task for someone like me, as i am from the south india, none of my classmates are from south, i somehow managed to learn and understand hindi now, and i hope i helped my classmates well, the teachers were available whenever needed for doubts,
Interview Experience
Yes, i have given the written exam, through which i qualified and got into the university, with scholarship of 15% , the exam was on a moderate level and is easy enough for a moderate student and can be qualified by everyone
Night Life
Boys are allowed to roam in the college till 10 pm, after dinner, whereas girls are only allowed till 8 pm and every boys hostel has one canteen downstairs which offers almost everything needed, late night cake cuttings and movie nights are must enjoyable events in boys hostel, we have good number of malls to vist from our college, if we wanted to have fun, or go watch a movie in a theatre, our hostel also has a gym, which i make use off, we have study hall in the hostel, if you want to go and study, but for me, my room is enough for studying peacefully
