Course Curriculum Overview

4

I choosen electrical and electronics engineering because I like this field. I am interested in electric related things and I have a good practical knowledge in it. The curriculum prepares students for real world applications by theoretically and practically. Labs, workshops , projects are helps students for further academic pursuits. Area for improvement in the course curriculum and teaching method is giving more importants to practical sessions than theoretical classes. The frequency and timing of exams along with perspective difficulty level is perfectly arranged.

Internships Opportunities

4

Companies such as Oracle, L&T, Infosys, MRF, etc are giving internships with stipends in the role of technical expert and other roles. Saeindia projects have implemented in college and some other projects under the companies

Placement Experience

4

From 7th semester students are eligible for campus placements. Companies visited are Thejas Network LTD, Tata Elxsi , QBurst, Geodis, L&T, Tarento, Litmus 7etc... The highest and average package as per company and profiles offered are 12 and 4 LPA. About 40 to 50% of students are getting placed. My plan after getting the degree is working in any form for two years and then study MTech.

Fees and Financial Aid

A fee structure of 9680 Rs per year is paid. It is very less as it is a government college. Almost all categories have same fee structure exempt ST, SC. Tuition fees, caution fees, registration fees, admission fees, development fees, lab fees and the other compulsory charges are included in that 9680 Rs. College provides government scholarship like egrands. An amount of 20000 per annum will get from egrands. Other scholarships like alumini scholarship or women empowerment scholarships also provided by college.

Campus Life

4

The overall campus life is awesome. The annual arts fest 'Keli' and sports fest 'Aaravam' are conducted for encouraging students skills in arts and sports. The technical fest 'Ritu' was conducted every year for improving technical skills and to exploring more technological operations. These are conducted in any month. There is no a specific month for conducting all these. In college library almost every type of book and journals are available which can be read by mtsking a membership. Apart from that each dept has separate library which contains books related to the core subject. The faculties and technological provisions within classroom is awesome. Faculties are really helpful in every technological aspect. There are so many sports and extracurricular activities offered on campus such as football, cricket, chess, badminton, quiz programmes, etc. There are many clubs and groups running by students such as 'Bodhi' quiz club, 'Tritans' dance club, 'Ritm' music club, 'f cube' football club, and technological groups such as Iedc, IEEE, iste,etc.. These are created a great impact on students life.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facilities are really appreciable. Faculties provided in the room are strong coat, bed, table with locker, chair, free electricity, etc. Meals quality is really appreciable and menu is non veg in four days and veg in other three days. For those who is vegetarian can have veg food even in non veg day. Registration process for hostel is simple as filling a form from office with related documents & affordability is more as less fee structure. Out side college there are several rented rooms and PGs with affordable rate

Admission

I applied for almost every govt engineering colleges in Kerala under KTU. My current college was my third preference. I got admitted in govt engg. College Kannur earlier for the same course then in next allotment I got admitted in my college. When I came here to take admission I really liked college then I fixed it will be my college and not opted for further allotments and other options. Govt engg.college Trissur and CET trivandrum were my first preferences. I didn't got admission there because I have no much rank in keam entrance exam. Admission process in my college is attain good rank in keam entrance exam and apply for allotment. Eligibility is +2 pass and exam conducted is keam entrance examination. Cut off for my course in my catogery is 12k Rank. Overall admission experience is good and easy because of the college admission arrangements.

Faculty

4

For a class room of strength 76 a faculty is teaching. Each subjects have different facilities who have good knowledge in respective subject. Faculties is are really friendly with students and very much approachable. Radhika Mam is most liked faculty because of teaching method and friendly behaviour. Radhika Mam is the best faculty. There is no any faculty whome I didn't like. Every one is good in their own way. There is a semester end university exam and two midterm series exams...exams maybe easy or difficult. Almost every students will pass the exams and a few students of 2-5 fails. Marking scheme and course curriculum is perfect.

Night Life

4

There are gym , cafeterias, library and public area in college. Gym open at 6 Am and close at 9 pm. Cafeteria open at 8 am and close at 4:30 pm. Library open at 9 am and close at 4 pm. Public areas are 24 hrs available. College hostel curfew Starts at 9:30 pm to 6:00 am. There are many hangout places inside and outside college like water tank top, park etc which are safe at night also.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
