What Students Say?
Likes
- The campus is very big with full fledged features which help the students like library, lecture halls and many more
- Dsu has connections with vast range of companies ,so during placement it helps a lot even with internships
Dislikes
- There are excellent faculties but the faculty to student ratio is bad especially in few departments such has cs core and aiml
- Though the college has good connections the university can get more exposure internationally by introducing student exchange and research collaboration
Course Curriculum Overview
The cybersecurity curriculum in Dsu is designed to provide both theoretical foundations and practical experience in key areas such has security, linus and other related topics . With labs and workshops we get hands on experience on real world problems which help us during placement and internship . The faculty and the curriculum are up to date and help us learn the tools which are currently needed. Cybersecurity isn't just about IT it's also related to law(cybercrime laws),business(risk management) so introducing courses related to them can help students In cybersecurity certification is important so helping students to prepare for certification such has cissp, CompTIA and others can help students a lot Coming to the exams it's not that stressful we will have a month or two to prepare and me personally think 1 week is enough to clear it
Fees and Financial Aid
There are 3 different ways to enter the college 1. Through kcet(Karnataka government exam) the fees through this is 1,27,000 which includes lab fees of 5,000, library fees of 2,000 and other miscellaneous fees 2. Through dsat(exam conducted by Dayananda sagar institution) the course fees may vary but for cs related courses it's 3,00,000 which includes all library fees, lab fees, exam fees and other miscellaneous fees 3.Through management (direct admission) the fees is 3,75,000 for the first year and it reduces for the next three years
Campus Life
There will be one major event every year for two days which will be held in the college after the first mse there will be many cultural events in these two days which give many opportunities to all the students. There will be many other events accruing throughout the academic year on most festive occasions where students can get many opportunities to participate and increase there skills and enjoy their campus life There are many fields and grounds in the college and there will be intra and inter university competitions happening even in free times students could go and enjoy their time playing sports There are many clubs and social groups in Dsu such has fashion team which helps students get confidence and increase their social interaction skills There is student council which is responsible for the event organising in the college this help the student understand how to organise an event and increase their management skills But after you step out of the campus there is nothing much to do we will have to travel to banglore which is quite far from the college
Admission
I had applied in Rvce ,Bms and Pes but I couldn't get a seat in those colleges so Dsu was next on my list Dsu is a good college but I would have preferred to get a degree from those colleges I even got accepted in precidency university and Reva university but I preferred to joined Dsu over those colleges because the transportation was much easier for me personally and I felt Dsu had better infrastructure and placement opportunities To get into Dayananda sagar university we have three different options 1. Through cet or comedk which are entrance exams For cet cutoff change depending on course you want to do 2. Through dsat which is an exam conducted by Dayananda sagar institute most of the students get accepted through this exam 3. Through management or direct admission the cut off is mostly not asked but a minimum of 70 percentage in puc or equivalent board
Faculty
The faculty to students ratio may vary between courses but it's bad in few courses such has cs core and aiml and it's good in few courses such has cyber security and mechanical My class advisor Naveen Kulkarni is a very good teacher he understands the students problem and helps us ,he informs us about which path we should be taking to help us The exam schedule is a the same has most colleges We will have 2 mid sem exams or internal exams for 40 marks each which will be converted into 20 after those 2 exams we will have lab exams for 30 marks in the end of the sem we will have an e end sem exam for 100marks which will be converted into 40 marks .Depending on the faculty they would be giving assignments for 20 marks Most of the exams will be easy to clear with a weak time of preparation
Night Life
There is nothing much to do outside the campus of Dsu there is one place next to the college called friends where you get food which is an average place The boys hostel is also average the gym doesn't have any free weights just machines and most of the machines are not in good condition Coming to food the mess is not that good they have the same timetable from past two years and the taste is manageable ,there is two cafeterias one below the mess which is overpriced and one in the hospital which is not hygienic The only good thing is there is a lake right next to the hostel which is pretty good place to hangout but the hostel has a curfew time so we can't Rome around in the night
