What Students Say?
Likes
- The crowd is pretty good with helpful seniors.
- The placement cell is good with providing training with mock interviews and group discussion with linkedin profile optimisation
Dislikes
- Very strict with the dress code and grooming
- Can suspend you if caught smoking, ragging, or even if you don't listen to faculty and forget about some singer or any famous personality coming and having a big fest and concert.
Course Curriculum Overview
As I said the university has started LCA replacing the traditional teaching method in this the students will be playing the lead role while teacher will play the role of facilitator, there will be lots of activities that will help you gain practical knowledge and there will be no exams for this course while for the normal subjects which will be 2 or 3 you will have 2 exams with 2 CIAs i.e mid term and end term.
Internships Opportunities
Goldman sacks provide financial analyst and investment consultant position under internship but is very hard to get only 3 students got from whole university and same with DE Shaw giving same profiles and 2 students got in this but their stipend was 60k per month which is crazy as a student.
Placement Experience
from 5th semesters the students become eligible for placements and some big companies like Goldman sacks, Deloitte, EY, DE shaw etc. will start visiting and will get the cream students with the packages o 12-15 lpa, this years the placement rate was low for BBA but the packages were higher. IN BCom. most of the students get placed but at a very low package of 4-6 lpa, the BCA students will get placed pretty easily as it is the flagship program. The palns after degree would be pursuing MBA which most of the students do and complete that. The average overall package you can say would be 8 lpa with placement rate of 50-60%. Thsi year most of the investment banker and finance related profiles got the maximum package with HR and marketing with average and less profiles in comparison.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee for the general BBA course is 205000 and you have to pay 20000 extra in the first year for the admission prosess and a list of things and for the dual specialisation like Finance and International balance its 260000-280000. For other courses like BCom. its less than 150000 and the fee for the BBA programand science program is increasing every year. Scholarships will be provided from 2nd year on the basis of CGPA which should be more than 3.7/4 , the amount of activities you are part of (Extra curricular) and the Financial situation of your family, based on these 3 criterias they will provide you with the Scholarship.
Campus Life
The clubs are shit but some clubs like Chist cunsulting, CAPS, Student council and SWO are great as they provide you with credits which will be usefull is future, other clubs like E-cell and some small clubs looks fancy from outside but are shit and dont have any meaning. The main fests are Anuual sports meet which happens in kengeri, Blossam, and some more small events. Dont expect any fun event all events are accademic fests and there is nothing like concerts. The only fun event is Bhasha Utsava. The classrooms have projectors and white boards with good benches. The campus is having a range of sports facilities like football, basketball, volleyball, snooker, Table Tennis, and cricket (there is no ground just nets).Student run social groups would include production houses like Osark. The library is having wide range of books and is quite big with newspapers of all kind.
Admission
I applied to NMIMS Mumbai, Symbiosis pune, and DU. well i didnt get in DU because of low marks in CUET, talking to others i selected christ over those 2 because of the ROI i was getting the fee of both the universities were very high as compared to Christ and also the living expense of mumbai and pune is very high as compared to bangalore. The admission has 2 aspects one id entrance exam which you have to give on the campus itself which will ask you Basic math problems, data related and same as IPMAT but very much basic level, studying for 2-3 days will be enough and the 2nd one is interview where they will be asking questions of 12th class and current affairs checking your confidence and general knowlege, if you crack the interview thats it welcome aboard. Dont worry about your class 12th and 10th marks I have friends having 70% getting in the college.
Faculty
The faculty are average as my campus is new, some faculty have been hired recently, well some of the facultys are amazing and having pure knowledge and enthusiasm about their subject while on the other hand some facultys are just there for the name sake having only a bit knowledge and cant solve problems outside the course. Now coming to the course, they have recently introduced LCA (learning centric approch) where the students have to do various activities and the teacher will play the role of facilitator, the students will have practical knowledge and they wont have to give exams for those subjects. The basic course structure is divided in 4 i.e CIA 1, Mid-term exams, CIA-3, End term exam with end term exam and mid term each having 50 marks and will be converted in 25 and 30. The attendance is having 5 marks. The exams are in such a way that if you will study and have knowldge about the subject you will pass.
Night Life
You have to go out of the area for nightlife like church street, koramangla and inside the area there are lots of gyms and eating spots with IKEA being the favourite spot of students during exams. The hostel closes at 9 pm so there is no nightlife for hostelers and if they take leave without prior info or some stupid reason they will be fined with 500 Rs.
