Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum teaches you the basic knowledge of the industry but you can learn much more about the industry when you do your internship. All in all the curriculum is not very relevamt but it surely builds your foundation for the job you'll be doing or further studies.

Internships Opportunities

5

There is a compulsory internship on the 2nd year of college. The placement for internship is done through college & the faculty is very helpful during the wntire process. All the major brands invite students for internships.

Placement Experience

4

The placement process statrs from the 5th Sem (Third year) of college. All the major hotel companies in the industry like Taj, Marriott International, ITC, Oberoi gruloip, The Leela, Lalit Suri group, etc come to conduct interviews amd recruit students. In addition to this QSRs like McDonald's, Good Flippin' Burgers, Third Wave Coffee and retail brands like Aditya Birla group, Reliance industries etc. too come for recruitment. The avg. package offered is almost 5LPA as per last year records.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year-wise fees I paid for the 5 aemesters that I have completed was approximately 1,20,000/- per year (divided into 2 semsesters). Additional fees include uniforms, toolkit, university registration which will cost around 50,000/-. The affiliated university will be JNU (which has changed recently from IGNOU) I am of the IGNOU batch so the fees for us is lesser than the JNU batches.

Campus Life

4

The campus is situated in the heart of Mumbai at a bustling location of Dadar West. The college timings are 9 to 5 and the day is divided into practical lectures & theory classes. There are various clubsin the college like the Cultural club, Social Media club, Tourism club, Literary club. The college also has multiple events for every festival and occasion.

Admission

The admission to anu IHM in the country is on the basis of entrance exam called the NCHMCT-JEE (National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology - Joint Entrance Exam) The admission is on the merit basis and all the rules of reservation apply here too. I scored AIR 176 in the JEE and l belong to the General category. I had all the options open including IHM Pusa but I opted for Mumbai because I've always wanted to experience the life of this city. After all 'No city is better in terms of exposure than Mumbai!'

Faculty

4

The faculty of the college are experienced and approachable. All the HODs as well as senior lecturers will guide you efficiently as & when required. The exams are conducted by the end of every semester. There are mid-sem exams too which are conducted by the college itself and will be decided by the management i.e take assignments or MCQ type questions etc.

Night Life

3

I dod not opt for hostel facility but the hostel in time is around 9 pm. If you're going to atay out at night, you need a written permission from the Warden. The hangout places near the college are the Dadar beach, restaurant called Light Of Bharat, there are many cafes in & around Dadar too.
