Remarks

I don't think I could think of any bad remark but I would like if the college had a personal ground for the students even though we can go to the shivaji park ground for certain activities. The faculty, the food , the accommodation and everything is very good and adjustable. The only issue you might face is the absence of all class being air conditioned because the atmosphere of Mumbai is really challenging But the institution is all together very good.

Entrance Preview

It has an AIR concept and the seats are giving on this bases there are other caste base criteria too. I appeared though general though The admission process was very simple and was only on the basis of the AIR and your 12th standard percentage Even though the 12th grade marks is in important criteria you can apply even after the age of 18 years It is a very basic and easy process and only based on the merit list

Course Curriculum Overview

4

We have been given notes (printed) that we are expected to study from for the examination and the faculty too gives us written important notes in written form in the class rooms. The curriculum is very vast but worth every bit and you wouldn't ever feel left out in the hotel industry This course not only teaches you about food production but the entire hotel industry is covered

Internships Opportunities

Every student is provided with internship options. Not to brag but our institution is one of the best ( THE BESTTT!) and many hotels ask for our students for the training period. The training period is of 4 months that is included in the 3rd or 4th semester in the second year. We are given a chance to work in all departments depending on the hotel you work in. Your IT placements are based on your attendance and grades. You can also apply for walk in IT's in your home town and you will receive a NOC from the college. It is a very smooth flowing process and all students receive an IT placement

Placement Experience

5

All the top hotels come to our campus for campus interview and you are selected on bases of your grades and your knowledge about your area of interest. The institution handles all the queries regarding the placement and 90 % or students are provided with job opportunities before the final examination itself. As the interviews are on campus they are well handled and go in a smooth manner. There are different rounds according to the hotel you are interviewing for during the interview. The basic rounds are the Group discussion and the personal interview The very famous OCLD course is offered to the most deserving students and it is a race for the best

College Events

4.5

As it is a hotel management college there are many cultural programs held that we students organize with the help of the faculty. There are such programs held all through the year and it is a fun going process to let go of all the steam of living in a city like Mumbai. All religious practices are equally respected and followed. We are expected to dress up and we prepare the food related to that particular cultural ethics. It is a very light atmosphere celebration and all make an effort to work towards it

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very cheap and can be paid in installments on requesting the management. Proper bills and receipts are made available for the fees too. No extra costs are incurred after the fees is paid other then your equipment and linen. As it is a government college is has a very low fees structure and different parts of the course are all inclusive. The afternoon lunch is included in this fees too

Fees and Financial Aid

Loan facility is available for underprivileged students and the institution has tie ups with many Banks in this case.

Campus Life

3.5

The campus life is great. We have a canteen which doesn't serve a variety of food what what is served is really amazing and more than enough. There are many competitions that are arranged and students are also allowed to attend competitions of other colleges.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel facility is very good. I would recommend you to apply for it. But for the first year students the hostel facility is not provided. Hostel is available after the 2nd year and is at a very low cost. A morning breakfast, afternoon lunch , evening snacks and dinner is included in this cost. It is a year I based hostel facility and the payment if full year is taken at a time. There are different facility made available for the hostel students like a gym a TT table and other such games. The hostel is very safe and a curfew is applicable for all unless prior notice is given. Rules are a tad bit strict for the girls hostel but it all has a reason All together the hostel is very efficient with regular cleaning and proper timings

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are very helpful and give you advice on all topic's related or not related to the course. The anti ragging program of our college is very serious and no cases have been observed till now. The students are very positive and fights or discrepancies are hardly seen. The atmosphere of the college and the people in it is positive and a very easy environment to adapt to

Exam Structure

Previously we had a 3 internal assessment format but that has been changed to 2 midterm exams and 1 final exam per semester. The syllabus is not too vast but a little bit of efforts have to be taken for the examination. Passing in easy but that is never the goal. These mid term exams are of 50 marks each paper and the final in of 100 marks each. Enough time is allotted but no excuse can help you miss these. Once missed you loose your marks. We have frequent practical classes but the assessments are held on alternative practical days. It is a very chilled out examination approach and gives you time for the other extracurricular activities the institution holds

Admission

We were given a form to be filled that we received from the institution itself and it was supposed to be mailed back to them through post. The examination date and centers are already decided and you are appointed one according to your preference. The exam is easy and McQ based with positive marking of 1 mark and negative marking of 0.25 marks. The next step is setting your priorities for the institution you want among all the ihms You are then allocated to your preference IHM on basis of your JEE AIR. There are 3 rounds the 4th being a spot round. The final formalities are done in the institution itself and you are expected to pay half the fees at that point though DD basis. And then you are in!

Faculty

4.5

Our facility are a group of IHM students itself. 80% of our facility are IHM pass outs with good hotel industry exposure in their particular departments. There are very knowledgeable and very helpful towards the students and they were one of us too. The faculty tries their best to inculcate all the knowledge they have into us and i am telling you from personal experience they do succeed.
