Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum and the text books are just the same which is being followed in all top IITs and NITs. The teaching style is the same but it's rather on an older way of teaching side. Exams happen twice each Semester named Mid semester examination carrying 30 marks then End semester exams carrying 50 marks and 20 marks is Professor's Assessment. The curriculum is very chill and hardly 7-8 students get back in each subjects.

Internships Opportunities

4

Many companies visit our campus like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Flipkart, Atlassian, Myntra, Cisco, Accenture, Capgemini, Hero, Bajaj, Tata steel and many other top companies visit for Internship opportunities. Some PSUs also visit for Internship opportunities though they offer very low stipend of around 15k per month. You just have to build good 1-2 project according to the role you are targetting. Just get help from any professor.

Placement Experience

5

From 7th semester beginning only top companies start visiting the campus. All top IT companies visit the college. CSE branch has an average of 27 lpa with around 95% placements. The core branch also has very good placements. The MME branch and PIE branch has the best placements compared to every NITs. I am preparing for UPSC ESE. On an average around 97% students gets placed. Lowest package is 6.5 lpa and the highest is 82.5 lpa by Atlassian offered to 5 students of CSE, ECE and EE.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fees yearly is 2,10,000 which includes Tution fees, Hostel fees - 30k, Mess fees- 36k. If your family income is less than 1lpa then you will get 100% tuition fees remission and if it's less than 5lpa then you will get 66% fee waiver. If you are from Jharkhand then you will get E- Kalyan scholarship which provides 75k scholarship per year.

Campus Life

3

The clubs here only remain active when new batch comes in and they have to get new inductions for their clubs. Only very few clubs remain active throughout the year otherwise clubs here are just a means to get girlfriends. Annual cultural fest here is Culfest which is the best East India fest with a budget of around a crore. The technical fest is Ojass and the Sports fest is Urja. Just name the book and it's available in the library. You can directly check the availability from the college library Web link.

Hostel Facilities

5

In 1st year you will get a room with 2 beds that means two persons will be staying in 1 room. The rooms are allotted according to your JEE Mains rank and your roommate will be your classmate. From 2nd year onwards you will get your single room with a balcony. For girls you will get Tripple sharing room all throughout your 4 years. But many new hostels are under construction so it might change from next year onwards. The hostels are around 500-600 metres away from your Department and Academic building. You will get hostels for 15k per semester and mess charge is 18k per semester. The mess food is over-all good with lot of options.

Admission

I was getting Petroleum in IIT Dhanbad, Mechanical in NIT Kurukshetra, ECE in BIT Mesra but I chose NIT Jamshedpur Civil over all of this seeing the ROI of this course and college. As my family income is less than 1lpa so my Total fees for the complete course is around 4 lakhs and the average package of Civil engineering is 9 lakhs that is even more than double. NIT Jamshedpur has the 4th best placement stats in all NITs.

Faculty

4

There are literally many faculties. I don't exactly know the faculty to student ratio but I have heard it's around 1:15 or something like this. All faculties are friendly here and not that strict. Prof. A.K Choudhary sir is a superb faculty of Geotechnical engineering. One of the highest learned prof of the college. Every faculties here are good but some Asst. Profs have a lot of attitude and they blindly impose fine on everyone.

Night Life

3

There's a lockdown after 9 pm for girls so no nightlife for boys as well. Gym cafeteria evrything is open only till 8 pm. Hostel in timing for Girls in 9 pm and for boys it's 10 pm. You can visit all famous places in Jamshedpur all in your 1st month in college. There are very few places to visit nearby but u can rent a bike and go to Chandil dam, Dimna lake, Dalma wildlife sanctuary and many nearby falls and places. Kolkata, Puri is also around 4-5 hours from here so you can go on Friday night and comeback on Sunday evening and attend the classes on Monday.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

on every occasion they will charge the students, there is no good placement, every year they increase the exam fee, students are not regular its poor then government colleges just pay penalty and your attention will be full, its like correspondence course they are running huge but and regular power cuts unhealthy canteens, political motivated administration and management. There expenditure in infrastructure is huge which is best for love birds its like park or garden. Overall all not dedicated to education.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculise fully designed on national education policy 2020. Focuses more on extracurricular activities than core subjects. Because reply is designed on the basis of UGC guidelines which is a good thing for different competitive exams that are design by UGC. I will say semesters are to short that all till now my all four semesters has been glitter in about 4 months each that should be of duration of 6 months.
