Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculam offered was very good and covered the core subjects for Computer Science like Data structures and Algorithms, Operating Systems, Object oriented programming, etc. that is required for any entry level jobs in the tech world. The course also offered various electives from other departments for students wanting to explore other areas of engineering.

Fees and Financial Aid

Year Wise Fees for Management Quota/Normal Quota: 156000 (approximately) Year Wise Fees for NRI Quota : 400000 (approximately) Year Wise Fees for SC/ST Quota was much less than the actual fees I wasn't eligible for any scholarships.

Campus Life

4

The annual events for the college was known as Pratishruti (3 day festival) and the tech event was called Technovision (2-3 day tech festival comprising of various tech workshops, coding events, etc.) . The college provides a great library to study and borrow both educational and non-educational books to read. The college also offers various options for student-run social groups for example, Google Developers Students. Club, Computer Society of India, Robotics Club, etc.

Admission

I didn't apply to many colleges but some of them were College of Engineering, Pune (COEP), Pune Institute of Computer Technology (PICT), RBU (Ramdeobaba University aka Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management), YCCE. But got an admit from only RBU and YCCE and since RBU was better ranked than YCCE, I went ahead with that choice. To get an admit from RBU, it considers the scores of MHTCET and JEE Mains.

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio per semester is 1:10 and the faculties are very approchable in and out of the classroom. Some of them explain the silliest doubts in a very patient and simple manner but some of the professors just neglect such queries. The exams are average and are conducted as follows : 3-4 unit tests and 2 main tests per semester.

Night Life

4

The favorite spot for people to release their stress after exams or classes was either the canteen or the basketball court on campus. Some folks like to stay on campus and go to gym for their workout sessions. The campus is really safe to roam around during any time of the day.

Placement Experience:

Placement in my college are decent, especially for computer related branches. Students usually become eliggible for campus placement from the 7th semester. The placement cell conducts taining programs from earlier semesters, including aptitude tests, technical sessions and mock interviews to prepare students. Many companies visit the campus every year, mainly from the IT and software sector. Some ofthe common recruiters include companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Cognizant and mid level companies. A few products based or higher paying companies also visit for specific branches. The average package is usually around 4-6 LPA while the highest package can go above 10-12 LPA in some years, especially for computer science and IT students. The placement percentage varies by branch, but overall, around 70-80 % of eligible students get placed with higher percentages in computer related branches. As for my personal plan, after completeing my degree, I aim to get a good campus placement in a reputed company and start my career in the engineering field. I also plan to keep improving my technical and communication skills during the course to increase my chances of getting a better package.
