Course Curriculum Overview
The course is good and is similiar to core computer science itself , all the subjects are same expect three minor subjects over the entire four years of the course. they have relevant subjects , the irrevant parts from VTU syllbus has been replaced.
Internships Opportunities
The internship oppurtunities are also good , as the internship is compulsory in the 7th sem. companies like TCS, INFOSYS , ORACLE and many other such companies provide internship oppurtunities , the stipend rangesfrom 10k per month to 50k per month . Some dont get stipend also.
Placement Experience
The placements in SIT college is very good inspite of recession also, the highest package offered last year was 32lpa . The average package is 7-8lpa. for cse students almost 90% of students got placement.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure for SIT per year is 1,20,000 if you joined the college through KCET. If you joined through COMEDK quota the fees has been increased very much its about 2,80,000. If you joined through management quota the fees is about 25lakhs including donation and everything.
Campus Life
The overall experience was good , it is not in bengaluru except that it is very good college ,the fest happens every semester but you cannot expect more from it as from other top institutions. But the college management wont ask you the money for the fests , thats a good thing. Library is average. Clubs are active and many clubs are there.
Hostel Facilities
the hostel is good with concerning the fees given the hostel fee is 80,000 per year. Many other colleges take double that money for the hostel , but the wifi facility is not that good and sim card network is also bad , the meal is average but you cannot miss saturday lunch , its delicious.
Admission
I applied for many other top colleges in Karnataka but RVCE and BMSCE i couldnt get admission there because of the very high cutoff in the KCET. ans also the SIT college is near to my hometown , so i chosed this college. The admission process was smooth.
Faculty
the course structure is good , systematic but the college faculty is no random, like the lecturer has their own rules as it is asutomous college , some of them are very strict while others are good , the teaching is same as always , you have to study yourself majority of the times.
Night Life
The nighlife is very boring because the gym and all other sports closes at 7pm. after that the boys goes to the boys hostel and the girls hostel is far away outside the campus.But we can roam inside the college in night.
