Course Curriculum Overview

5

Well the curriculum is very out dated and is not sufficent according today's real world applications. They have to teach students in depth and should focus on smart learning rather only thoretical and spoon feeding. Frequency and timing of exam is 1 month

Placement Experience

5

The placements of our college for the year 2024 batch is low as compared to other years the reason due to rise in artificial intelligence and mass recession in global markets but still many students got placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees for the first year only tution fees is 97000 Fees for the second year only tution fees is 92000 Fees for the third year only tution fees is 92000 Fees for the fourth year only tution fees is 92000

Campus Life

5

Well as a student at CGC Landran, I can say the campus is quite vibrant and dynamic offering well rounded experience beyond academics and the Social life at CGC landran is active with events like fest and competitions and celebrations that bring the campus to life. Overall the campus life and student experience at CGC Landran are enriching and prepare us well for both our careers and personal growth.

Hostel Facilities

5

facilities provided in room is separate almirah and separate table chair, bed. Daily workers come to clean our room and pick up the garbage. Meal quality is not that good not that bad its okay to eat somedays the meals are very nice specially during celebration and festival and registration process is very smooth but yeah they ask for money first. I lived in Sukhsagar Hostel

Admission

The reason for which i have chosen this college is they have a quite decent placements and also they have low tution fees when compared to other college fees structure and the infrastrcture is good quite beautiful campus and good environment

Faculty

5

Faculty to student ratio is 1:40. Faculty relationship with student is good and cooperative. They are always ready to solve our doubts. I liked Jagbir Sir. Inspite of teaching he gave us practical insights about the corporate industry and he's very nicer to students and he helped a lot during our campus placements. In a semester there are total 3 Mid Semester Exams and one University Exam. MST are moderate. But during our university exams are bit moderate to difficult because it's based on problem solving and reasoning. In the university exams but many students fail

Interview Experience

5

Yeah i have faced group discussion during my time on admission it was on the topic boon or bane, Criteria for Admisssion Either you get seat through PTU Counselling or you should have minimum 75% in 12th and Appeared for JEE Mains

Night Life

5

Night life is CGC Landran the gym is open till 10 pm thats a very good thing about it and the library still remain open untill midnight and cafetarias and shopping outlets are also opened till midnight. Well the famous hangout place inside the college is Parivartan Ground and Central Park and outside the college is India Air Force Museum which is located at Sector 16 Chandigarh and hotel timings are 10 pm for boys and 8 pm for girls

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
