Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum followed here is the standard one put up by National Medical Council. Any changes in curriculum is aligns with NMC policies and guidelines for medical education throughout country. As for an MBBS student, adequate necessary clinical exposure is available, depends on the students how well they utilise the opportunities. Field visits start from first year, although just a few times in the year. Clinical postings starts in second year. Exam difficulty level is average and somewhat similar to all government colleges through the state.

Internships Opportunities

4

Again, unlike most other private medical colleges which pay absolutely nothing, this college pays during internship, around 15000 per month. It is the major tertiary care centre in this area, so most people in a radius of 50 kms come here for medical care.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are three categories of seats. Government seats cost- tution fee 1,30,000+Miscellaneous 45,000 Private seats cost 18,45,000 Management fees is as per agreement at time of admission, usually around 34,00,000+ Miscellaneous 45,000. Hostel fees is 85,000 The above said fees is for 2022 batch. There has been an 8% increase in fees in last two years in all categories.

Campus Life

4

Synergy is our annual sports fest spanning over 4-5 days. Various inter college events are held. College provides enough funds. Ganesha festival is celebrated in a grand way, again college provides funds. College even celebrates many festivals of other states. There are various events held during graduation of each seniormost batch too.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel rooms are spacious enough, a bathroom, a toilet, washbasin with mirror are there. Each student has a cot, big study table with attached cupboards, separate cupboards for vlothes and other stuff too which is 8 foot in height. The meals are standard south indian vegetarian quantity is sufficient, boiled eggs are provided 3 times in a week. Sweets are given thrice in a week. Tea/coffee/milk id available in morning and in the evening with snacks. Food menu is good enough. Though you get used to the same menu repeating every week and occassionally end up ordering from nearby food outlets which deliver to a nearby gate.

Admission

I got a Government seat, got allotted this college based on the priority list I submitted during the state counselling. I am definitely happy that I got in here. It's much better compared to many other private colleges, and way better than the newly started government colleges. Now it has NAAC A+ accreditation, in the first round itself.

Faculty

4

Faculties are quite approachable. They actually care about how we turn out and probably work as hard as students, except a few. Pre clinical departments are quite good. Many of the teachers have decades of experience. Exams have a high standard, but over time you learn to approach the exams well, teachers help a lot.

Night Life

4

Gym facility is not there in New Boys Hostel, though it is there in old boys hostel and girls hostel too. It has a very big Library with sufficient amount of books. Since the area around the college is rural, it is quite safe, people in general are nice.

Course Curriculum Overview:

curriculum is designed to be highly relevant and comprehensive for modern medical practice.Early Clinical Exposure is One of the strongest aspects of the curriculum is introducing students to patients in their very second year. The final year of the curriculum—the Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) is effective it prepares students for the high-pressure environment of Indian healthcare, making them very capable of handling emergencies and outpatient departments (OPD ). Students feel that lectures are still too focused on passive PowerPoint presentations.Rigorous schedule, integrating "Life Skills" or "Stress Management" modules more formally into the foundation course would be helpful. The university exams (RGUHS) are generally fair but require a very high level of descriptive writing and practical precision.
