Course Curriculum Overview

4

We have ECE which is early clinical exposure where students are taken to hospital for first had experience of the diseases we are being thought. We have 3 unit tests and 3 internals and 3 practicals before the final university exam. These exams are with a gap of 1 month which is hectic ik.

Internships Opportunities

5

As we are in medical field after completion of 4.5 years of mbbs one year of internship is compulsory before writing the final exams. Research programs also done by the faculty and students. Our library has a collection of reasearch papers released by students and faculty

Fees and Financial Aid

Yearly general category students - government sear pay 157000 as college fees and 96000 as hostel fees. Every year additional fees - development fees, lab fees, transportation fees, etc is 45000. For private seat the fees is 22 lakhs and for management sear fees is 32 lakhs. There are scholarships provided for SC qnd ST catergory students.

Campus Life

4

This an institution which comes under the Adichunchunagiri Mata in Karnataka, few spiritual programmes are conducted . Recently Rotoplast event was done which aims at providing patients with cleft palate and celft lip free treatement and surgery . As first year students we dont get time to participate in many clubs or events that are being held in the college, but from second year onwards we have seen our seniors actively participating in events. As mentioned earlier infrastructure is really good

Hostel Facilities

5

There are 3 or 4 sharing rooms , with attached bathrooms, table and chairs as well as cupboards which are of wood ,so good quality Mess food is good, 7.30 am breakfast starts , 12.30 noon for lunch and 7.30 pm for dinner. South indian, north indian and sometimes even chinese like noodles are given. Once a month special items with sweets will be provided.

Admission

I chose this college over others as the place where it is location is devoid of noise pollution or the city huzzel. As the college comes on the highway there is no honking or constant traffic like in the cities. But this is also a disadvantage as we students have to travel quite far for a day outing or for a movie theatre. Chat shops, photocopy stores are inside our campus itself. Admission process was all through KEA. After we write NEET exam based on our marks are eligibility criteria, preferance order and availability of seats colleges are awarded. For a gov and private seats students submitted the original documents to KEA office, where we receieved a letter which we submitted to the college for further admission processes

Faculty

4

In addition to teaching and non teaching staff we have mentors who have finished mbbs and waiting for their pg placements. We also have a weakly once small group tutorials where a group of 30 students are assigned to a teacher, where the teacher asks us questions make us present certain topics as well as tell us about the important topics from which questions are asked. Exams are mostly moderate tp difficult keeping in mind the immense syllabus needed to complete on time before exams. Physiology department is the crowd favourite as they are comparatively understanding, whereas anatomy and biochemistry come together with they pros and cons

Night Life

3

As girls we have a 8 o clock curfew in hostel, but Doctors and interns are allowed to go to their night shifts in hospital. We have our own hospital . There is a gym in the ground floor for girls which is well equipped. Other than the mess food there are 2 cafeteria in the campus which are really good. The campus is very huge that u can nicely have an half hour stroll . The security is strict about the safety of the students .

Course Curriculum Overview:

Same curriculum as the NMC is followed . In the beginning ears there wont be much exposure clinically like any other hospitals later on in 3rd amd 4th year there is more clinical exposure and patient interaction. According to me the exam level of 1st year is a bit tough as it is a changing phase from 12th to college and everything is new later on we get adjusted and find it easy and will understand how to phase the exam and how it is different from the previous exams of 11th or 12th . Only one exam will be for a academic year which includes the whole syllabus of that year

MBBS- passion and internal will power plays an important role in choosing this course. PASSION- because it is a noble job to do and satisfaction in this course is unmatchable because of patients interaction. WILL POWER- you may find this course hectic and the course duration is of 5.5 yesrs so it lengthy and you have to study a lot in this course.
