Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum for my course in really tough. Not only my course but also for all the engineering courses. The actual duration of one semester is 6 months. But for our University it is just 3 months. Syllabus designed for 6 months is teaching and we studying it in just 3 months. In the third months the final semester exam fill start. Its a really stressfull job for both teachers and for students. The frequency of exams are another big thing. Every month we have series exam and for third month its end semester exam. Only one way to solve all these problems is to increase the time of 0ne semester to atleast 5 months.

Internships Opportunities

3

Reality is the no. of internships provided by the college is less and those with stipend is very rare. But the internships they providing are really nice and had a value for the certificates provided. National clubs functioning in college like IEEE, providing the best internships and workshops as we can gain or increase our engineering skills.

Placement Experience

3

Students in sixth semester having zero backlogs are eligible for campus placements. 90% of the students are getting placements from here. TCS, Infosys are the main companies coming for placements and also several software companies. The highest salary package offered is 12 LPA, and average salary package is 6 LPA. Some students will attend several exams and interviews other than campus placement to get job on the companies of their choice. Several students move with their startup ideas after graduation. My plan is to do M Tech before going for a job.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fees Rs.75000 and Rs.10000 for special facilities. Thus total Rs.85000 is paying as fees per year. Rs.100000 should pay, except the students from Government merit, at the time of admission as refundable deposit which will get as refund after graduation. Reduction in fees is there for students from economically weaker section. Providing Scholarships for students who had top ranks in engineering entrace examination. Currently I do not have any fees reductions or scholarships.

Campus Life

3

Some of the events happening in the college will create a memorable moments in life but most of the days will be boring. The annual tech fest THE CROSSROADS is the biggest thing happening in our college. But due to irrelevant rules by the management this fest was postponed last year. There are lots of clubs like NSS, actively fuctioning in the college and we will get chances to participate in extracurricular and co curricular activites which will provides activity points. Infrastructure provided is the biggest positive side of our college to showcase. Every classrooms had a projector facility and some of the classrooms have smartboards. Several seminar halls and convention centres are there with fully air conditioned rooms. All the systems in the computer or software labs have latest version specs and always up to date.

Hostel Facilities

4

I am staying inthe college hostel. Currently I am paying Rs.80000 per year as my hostel fees. The rate will change whether you are staying in 3 bed, 2bed, or a single bed room. I am staying in a 3 bed room, each bed have separate study table with chair, cupboard, fan and light. The toilets and bathrooms are good and they will clean everyday. The quality of food is really good compared to other hostels. Everyday non veg dishes are available. Veg dishes are provided always for those are vegetarians. Separete halls are provided for combine studies. Overall hostel life is good.

Admission

Actually my ranks on entrance exams are bit low. I wont get admissions on the top ranked Government colleges of my state. The college I am studying now is an autonomous college. It is a well reputed college in the state. I took several opinions from the alumnies of this college before joining. Campus placement is guarenteed in this college if you dont have any backlogs. The infrastructure and the environment of the college is really nice. Thats why I choose this college. For admission there are three gateways; Government merit seat, Management merit seat and NRI quota. I got admission here in the management merit seat. This college is one of the top ranked autonomous college.

Faculty

4

The faculty members of the college is really nice. They are really hardworking and always try to make all the students understand the topic they teaching and always clears the doubts. The faculty to student ratio is 1:40. But for my batch its 1:60. But my teachers handiling it nicely. But the teaching spped is the only problem that is face, because a semester ends within 3 months. In this 3 monts there are two series exams and lab exams. So topics are covering really fast. Thats not the fault of faculty but the curiculum. The faculties are managing this stress nicely and they always try to make the students to study all the topic. Win percentage of my class is 80%.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements are decent. getting placed in a big company is more about having the technical and soft skills to pass the interviews. the placement training helps us develop soft skills but the technical skills must be developed ourselves.

Students in 7th and 8th semester are eligible to sit for campus placements. Companies like Oracle, Goldman Sachs, L&T, Bajaj, Caterpillar and PSU's like BEL,HPCL and BPCL come to the college usually the coding companies offer aroung 35-40 LPA CTC and the core PSU companies offer around 17-18 LPA. Highest Package is 51 LPA and an Average Package of 12 LPA. Nearly 85% students from Circuit and CS branch get placed and around 60% in core branches who sit for placements, My plans after getting the degree is to join MBA to learn how business world works and how the money flows
