Course Curriculum Overview
Since we are studying B.E, our curriculum at times feels less advanced than it should. The course work is outdated at times and may seem to be in need of updates, however this course is meant to give you an understanding of the basics of the subject and will help you to learn more on your own. If students want to be fully industry ready then lots of self study is required but the course is kind of a minimum requirment.
Internships Opportunities
Both college placememnt cell and department procure internship offers from different companies and contacts, An internship is required for 3rd year compulsorily. students can also pursue an internship of their choice if they can get it.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for on campus placements from 6th sem (with special permission from principal) or 7th sem. Placement has its own departments with dedicated HOD. All the mass recruiters such as TCS, Wipro, Infosys come for placements and better companies like Atlassian, Zomato, Microsoft, Oracle also come. Max package for on campus last year (2024) was 51LPA (Microsoft). Placements range from 3 LPA to 60 LPA with a mean package of 6.6 LPA. Around 80 - 85% of all students get placed one way or another.
Fees and Financial Aid
Total fees for the college is Around 2.6L with 265,666 being the fees for the comedk merit seat, arounf 6000 for exam fees and 1200 fees for lab during first and second semester. Management fees for this course is 5.5L and CET fees are 120000. This price is the same among all bengaluru colleges as it is collected by the exam board of comedK or CET (Except managemaent).
Campus Life
Life on campus is almost non existent after 6pm as campus is closed. But there are lots of resturants and other places to visit for hostellers and if there is any event going on in college then work will be going on till 9pm. During the day college is very lively and bustling but canteens do get crowded during break. Most Freshers find groups and friends within 3 weeks on campus.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel provides all the basic facilities such as food, filtered water, wifi, gym, laundry etc. Most hostels will undergo renovation in the next 2-3 years. Most rooms are double rooms with a few single rooms. Janitors are provided for every floor and every block. There sre seperate mess for boys and girls and the food is seriously not worth it but the mess fees are cheap and compulsory if you choose to stay in hostel. All hostels are within 100m of college building except pg block with is 600m away.
Admission
Applied to RV, BMS, DSCE and MSRIT, got into DSCE, BMSCE and MSRIT, chose to go with MSRIT because of better branch and already established department. Admissions process is very easy just refer to the list of documents they ask you to bring, attach a fee reciept and they will handle the rest. Keep an extra copy of all documents for reference. New admissions take place in a seperate area designated for admissions and doesnt clog up the main office.
Faculty
There are 80 students to a class with about 8-10 teachers assigned to each class. Each student is given a "Proctor" who is the student's primary contact in the college and all communications to college management should normally go through proctor. Student teacher ratio is about 8:1 but each proctor is given about 20 students.
