- too far from the city lack of cabs near the university
- the mess food is very bland. it is the very typical mess food you would imagine
- they still dont have a swimming pool despite having so much land
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum specifically my course has been designed with respect to international norms and standards . the curriculum is designed keeping in mind the current scenario and up to date information. new courses are also added as per demand and requirement. The frequency of exams gives us ample time to be prepared and difficulty varies with course
Internships Opportunities
The college doesnot offer internships but masters students are given ta-ship for the work they do. The university will help you with offers though through cdc. The university offers oppurtunity of undergraduate research to ug students to encourage research work.
Placement Experience
I dont have a accurate record of placements but the career development cell is really helpful for students. they guide you in each step and getting the best out of them is up to you. I plan to work for a few years before going to masters.
Fees and Financial Aid
At my time the full course fee for the 4 year course was coming out around 21lakhs but the college has increased the fees of the new batches. students from humanities or management have a little less fee as compared to students of natural sciences or engineering. currently i pay 2.5 lakhs as the tution fee per annum and 2.5 lakhs hostel fee per annum. this hostel fee i mentioned is a combination mess, lodging , laundry, etc.
Campus Life
Breeze is the cultural fest held in feb-march and surge is the sports fest held in october-november. we have a seperate library buildings with all the facilities one would require. all classrooms are equiped with smart boards and have acs. We have poeple coming on sports scholarship and have a wonderful infrastrusture to help them. We have a number of student run clubs which plan their seperate events.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are very good and have quad, twin and single seater rooms with both ac and non ac options. the mess menu and quality is below average and needs to be improved. hostels are compulsory so you cannot live outside and travel everyday
Admission
I applied for jee and couldnt get through. I cleared comedk and other exams but chose snu due to its location, facilities, academics and return on investment. Being close to delhi it was a plus point. The admission process is in two parts- exam and interview. for my course i didnt have to give interview and for exams they accept JEE and SNUSAT score. SNUSAT is their aptitude test which can given online and offline both.
Faculty
The faculty is very qualified from the top institutions around the globe. faculty to student ratio can be improved but it is not a problem. the exams depend on the course and the instructor on how does he want to assess you. This really gives the freedom to the instructor to successfully assses the students performance.
