What Students Say

Likes

GEU is no less than a bollywood set as it's so scenic that one can capture image from any corner and can easily boast that we are at a movie set.
Placements in last three years or so have sky rocketed with a student of our branch managed to get a job worth 84 lakhs.
The university has multiple boys and girls hostels and a seperate hostel for NRI students too.

Dislikes

Canteen food is pathetic but it well maintained though.

Course Curriculum Overview

After seeing the kind of packages CSE students get who will stop themselves for not opting for CSE. Yes, i became little judgemental here but end of th day it's money that matters. Only improvement would be sometimes classes happened in 2 tranches and the gap is such that coming back home for rest and then going back takes a lot of toll.

Class Size: 64Course Fees: INR 460000 per year

Placement Experience

We get our training programs started from the end semester of 1st year. So, training is done for 2 years and then we can sit for placements after getting a nod from the placement cell. Highest package of 2024 was 54.08 lakhs and it was given to none other than a student of CSE branch. NVIDIA, Google, Mindtree and all the leaders in IT space and even companies like Deloitte took away 20+ students with an average package of 8-10 lakhs.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is actually 5 lakhs a year but I got discount of 10% as my CGPA was over 8.5. The discount is 20% for the students who scored over 9 CGPA. So, scholarships are something that anyone can avail. Sports people get scholarship, the SC/Students get scholarship and also the one whose family people have served the armed forces.

Campus Life

Bazley happens in December which is a sports meet and GRAFEST happens in February which is annual cultural fest. The classrooms have air-conditioned ducts and also the labs are fully equipped and centrally air-conditioned. Sports wise table tennis, pool and chess are among the popular indoor sports and basket ball and football courts are ther for outdoor sports lovers.

Admission

None, literally applied for none as I am from Sahranpur and nearly 20-30% students from Sahranpur studies at GEU. So I looked at their academic growth and how well are they doing in their career, I went no further and straightway gave the university entrance. Within a week I got a call and the day I went at the campus, my admission was confirmed in just a few hours.

Faculty

Our professors are too good and a special mention to Deepak sir who teaches us Python. Teaching languages is one hell of a task but he makes our labs classes so interesting that he is indeed my favourite among others. We have just exams done before Diwali which is mid-sem exams and now in December we will have our final exams. This is the way the exams happens every year at GEU.

A Well-Rounded B.Tech Journey with Good Infrastructure, Supportive Faculty, and Growing Career Opportunities

Likes

Faculty members are generally qualified and approachable, and students can seek help with academics and projects.
students should supplement the university curriculum with industry certifications, coding practice, internships, GitHub projects and real-world development work.
There are cultural events, technical activities, clubs, sports and other extracurricular activities. Hostel students can participate fairly actively in campus events.

Dislikes

The main improvement I'd look for would be more advanced, industry-standard laboratory equipment and greater practical exposure.
I couldn't find a reliable current official university figure for the overall girls-to-boys ratio.
The ratio can also differ substantially between CSE, other engineering branches and the university as a whole.

Placement Experience:

Haridwar University provides regular campus-placement opportunities across IT, core engineering and other sectors. The university reports strong overall placement activity, but programme-wise salary and placement data are limited publicly, so students should ask for CSE-specific statistics before admission.

Likes

I like the college curriculum and study materials and teaching style of the teachers . Some teachers are impressive and their teaching style is too good .
Campus life is not much engaging but we usually spent our time in studying only . Also for attendance there is not much more criteria but some teachers are very strict in taking the attendance.
Faculties are full of experience and knowledge. They are approachable online and offline too but after the class.

Dislikes

I don't like the placement system in my college because the students studying in 2nd year do not get any exposure of placement . There is placement cell in our college but not very active .
Infrastructure is good but it should be spread in a more big acres . My wish was to get into IIT Kharagpur that's why I am asking for big campus .
Overall curriculum and research based approach of the campus is good. They just give projects to the seniors and seniors work is to dictate us about the project and helps us in building different types of project.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The main aspects that motivates me to choose this college is the GFTI'S colleges . Because my father suggest me that govt. Colleges seeks more companies that's why I choose this college . But truth is totally opposite from the reality. Real world application based projects is just given by the teachers in every semester but we students copy it and give it to them from the gpt. College timing should be more less we have to study from 10 am to 5 p.m. Timings of exams are of 3 hrs only in semester . Difficulty level is moderate.

Graduation- Best time of life.

Likes

The campus of the university is beyond beautiful and homely. Participation in college and university societies paves way for an all rounder development of the students. Facilities like CCF internet facility) is quite commendable.
Good Placements offered also encourage better future prospects. The library of the university is next level. Kisan mela held two times a year feels like another celebration for the university people.
Events held in the university with amazing artists offer exposure as well as a unique way to keep the entertainment alive amongst the youth.e

Dislikes

The hostel rules were rigid especially the entry timings of the girls hostel. The rigidity to take leave by getting it signed by various officials first had been an issue. Although, this was when i was graduating, things might have changed by now.
The stringent hostel rules were quite difficult to cope with. The strict checking at the university gates though might seem good as per the security but seem harsh sometimes.
Teaching methods could be made more progressive and technical with time paving way for more practical knowledge. Infrastructure could also be given a push.

Placement Experience:

In final year of btech companies start coming. Maximum students of CSE and IT get placed. Package is min. 3.2Lacs CTC. Both mass recruiters and startups take part in the placement drive. A good number of students get placed. But maximum students of our college opt for higher studies like appearing for GATE, GRE, CAT exams. Further students indulge in preparation for govt services like UPSC, Defence.
