Course Curriculum Overview
I chose psychology and economics as my main subjects and the syllabus it teaches us will help us in future banking exams or CUET exams . The practical aspect is a little less. Because they don't offer you much internships but overall studying is good . Teaching methods are good as everyone has different approaches, but they can surely include some practical exposure. The exams are at the right time, and they're of moderate level , not too difficult or too easy.
Fees and Financial Aid
I pay approximately 32000 rupees yearly .The college's crowd is nice as compared to other colleges . The infrastructure is also up to date and available to everyone, easy accessibility. GGDSD college is accredit as an A++ college by NAAC team . There are a lot of clubs you can join.
Campus Life
The youth fest , which is held in october and virasat which is held in march or april are two events that are annually held. There are other programs also like cultural fest, open bazaar, freshers, etc which are held annually. Along with it there are various programs held by different clubs almost everyday , so there's not any lack in different experiences or entertainment. In library also you can find all sorts of books and journals and magazines and it is easy to access it , you just need you student ID to access them.
Admission
I applied to PGGC- 11 college , which is also in chandigarh, i got admission there too, but i chose this college because its more better in education as compared to the other . And SD college is regarded as one of the best colleges in chandigarh. You can apply for BA directly using the college's website , but for centralised courses you'll have to fill the official govt form. The cut off for B.Com students is more than 100% and for BCA is more than 80%.
Faculty
Faculty ratio is pretty good, you'll never fine shortage of teachers , and all teachers are of approachable nature. I personally liked Minakshi rana mam from psychology department and ritika sinha mam, There are two final semester exams yearly ...and TWo Mid semester exams yearly, which means one MST in one semester
