Beyond the Classroom: Life at IISER PUNE

The courses which are offered are very up to date and give and actual conceptual understanding of the topics the courses are such that it is relevant to the real world applicantions and program our mind in thinking in a research and analytical perspective. I think the current course curriculum is enough and really good no need to improve further. Frequency of exams are 2 months Midsems and endsems and quizzes in Between then.

College provides you with the best facilities and course structure for the real world applications and it's up to the person how he performs in exams and his cgpa accordingly he can apply inside and outside the campus for internship. Most of the internships are payed and some of them aren't.

Overall experience of college is really good. Karvaan is the yearly festival that happens and plus there are several parties such as Halloween party and freshers party and back to college parties. Our college also supports people of all over India by conducting special occasions for all people such as Onam Lohri Ganesh Chaturthi ... Library is really great we can find all the relevant books and plus extra curriculum readings there. Technical support is really helpful and faculty members are really great. Sports we have almost all like football cricket basket ball volleyball... and we have annual sports meet where all 7 IISER, Niser and IISC banglore takes part called the IISM. We have a lot of Clubs such as Maths club, Astronomy club...there is also a student run club/ngo called as disha which goes to poor slums and villages to teach and provide for the children there.

Hostel rooms accommodate 2 persons they provide a desk for studying for each, 2Beds, Stiring compartments, 2 cupboards for clothes and several shells for books and other stuff. Meal quality is like a restaurant where you order something you like in the menu board, good food, and you have to pay each time you eat. Separate site for registration of hostel rooms. Renting a room isn't allowed you have to stay insiade the campus.

I also applied to IISC BANGLORE, as it is one of the prestigious colleges for research in India. I wasn't able to get admission in it so I chose another one of the most prestigious and national level college which is my college. Mainly because I wanted to focus more on Research field. I would have applied to IISC but I missed the application period for the college which I wasn't aware. Currently our college is taking admissions on the basis of IAT exam which is the official entrance exam for IISER.

Faculties are great they will help you even with the silliest doubts and over that we have teacher assistants (TA) which are PHD students working under profs they divide the whole batch into smaller batches like B1,B2... led by TA. There are mainly two mains exams each Sem the mid sems and end sems. Plus there are quizzes and assignments marks which add in the score card.

No personal interview was taken after clearing the entrance exams. The admission was solely on the basis of your performance in the test. I prepared through several institutes like Allen and Akash from 10th and I also took online courses from physics wallah and SciAstra.
