What Students Say?
Likes
- First thing that I liked about my college is their strong alumni network including Amitabh Bachchan, Divyendu Sharma, Shakti Kapoor, Vijay Raaz, etc
- My engagement with campus life and the quality of social interactions is very good. The seniors are very helpful. Also, various societies and clubs such as Avenues-the placement cell,Kartavya-the civil services society, etc provides best interaction.
Dislikes
- The infrastructure of the college is not very up to mark. It looks good from outside but from inside it is very old. The fans are very slow and Ac's are not in every class.
- Also, the construction work is ongoing in the college that is also the thing that I disliked. The auditorium is very small. The canteen price is ok but their service is not.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course Curriculum is also good. It follows new education policy so we get extra subjects other than our core subjects such as skill enhancement course, ability enhancement course, value added course and General elective. Mine computer curriculum includes c++ which is good for real-world applications and the teching methods is also good because there is always regular practicals of the same. So we can practice and excel in it. Overall course curriculum is good.
Internships Opportunities
As this is my first year and these internship opportunities are basically for 2nd and 3rd year and now honestly in don't know much about this but i will update my review on this later for sure and I try to be more specific when i have the proper knowledge. I don't want to misguide anyone.
Placement Experience
College offers placements in the 3rd year. The placement cell of Kirori Mal College helps students getting placed in their dream companies. But their is no placement for the IT sector. Placement is for other courses like Bcom and others. Basically students prefer higher studies for good package because ug packages is not that up to mark. My plans is to get into higher studies and than get placed .
Fees and Financial Aid
The year-wise fees i paid including Tuition fees, caution fees, admission fees, development fees, lab fees and other compulsory charges during the course completion is Rs.16815. Other than this i paid Rs.150 for the registration at delhi university portal through CUET. The fees of my batchmates for other courses is not very much. Their fees is also similar varying from Rs.15000 to Rs.20000. Private scholarships are available but other than this there is also govt. scholarship for the students which can be registered through NSP portal. The scholarship vary according to various factor such as family annual income.
Campus Life
Library of college is quite good consists many copies of books so that at a time many students can issue them from library. Some classes have AC's while some does not have other than this classes have projector a simple green board and simple class setup. Technical fests are also there like levitate 24 organised by the placement cell of kirori mal college which is basically a internship fair organised in march 2024. According to me sports are not that up to notch because ground is not properly maintained and also basketball court is still under construction. Other than this college does not provide any type of sports equipments. You need yours if you really want to play. There are various social groups, societies, club of college such as Avenues-the placement cell, Kartavya-the civil services society, Bhoomi club, Girl up Disha , parivartan, etc. These group impact on student life differently giving them new experiences and knowledge. They also helps in developing soft skills like communication, etc.
Admission
The admission process of my college is simple. First apply for CUET exam and score good marks in it. Than register on university of delhi portal. On the portal we have to make preference list among 70+ colleges of University of Delhi. Later based on CUET marks and preference list one can get admission in my college and also in any college of University of Delhi. For my course eligibility is 12 pass with PCM and the merit is based on three subjects of CUET that is Maths, Physics and Chemistry and English is the qualifying. Also the cutoff is not very high it is approx 300 out of 600. So one can easily get admission if work little harder and getting good scores in CUET.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is good. There is enough faculty for particular number of students. They are very easily approachable and really helpful. Always ready to give advice related to academics and other. Mrs. Mamta Sareen, the head of computed science department is very nice and approachable and helpful towards students with no ego. Mr.Stanzin Dorjai, our maths proffessor is also very nice. He is very chill and try not to make lecture boring. Currently there is no faculties which i disliked. There are internal assement and than semester exams only. I will update my review on this later.
