Course Curriculum Overview
I choose civil engineering at iust. The curriculum offers good theoretical knowledge but it legs in preparing student for real world companies. The teaching methods need improvement and more software courses should be introduced to better us for industry demands.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements in their last semester at Islamic University of Science and Technology. However there arenyt many companies visiting the campus. While opportunities may be limited students from computer Science and management studies department of secure jobs with notable companies. The average salary package for these placement typically rains from 3-5 lacs per annum
Fees and Financial Aid
I have pursued civil engineering from Islamic University of Science and Technology awantipora ,the annual fees for the program range between 60 k to 65k and if you belong to any reservation category there are various scholarships available for from both Government and private sectors that can help you ease with financial burden how ever if you are an open merit student you will have go for the national scholarship portal scholarship which can be available for open merit categories as well
Campus Life
The university does not organise many events ,workshops or functions that could provide student swith exposure to industry trends ,networking or extra curricular activities. This lack of practical exposure limit students overall development outside the classroom leaving room for improvement in this area
Admission
I had to stay in Kashmir for personal reasons and couldn't study outside. That's why I choose Islamic University of Science and Technology as it was the best option available at the time. My other choices were Kashmir university and SSM college ,but after comparing the three I concluded that iust was better option for my education.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio at iust stands at 1:40 which is relatively standard for many engineering institutions. However despite the larger class sizes the quality of faculty is commendable. Many of the professors are alumni of prestigious institutions like IIT and IPS and sharing high level of academic guidance. The examination system at iust is well structured with both minor and major exams ,the difficulty of for these exams is considered average ,but students are required to passport types of exams to progress in their studies
