Course Curriculum Overview

4

My course which is about media had the course of photo and documentary journalism which i like the most. When i went through the curriculum before joinin College i loved the portions of media and communication. The curriculum prepares us very well to the real world. The things that can be changed are maybe they can have more number of workshops. Number of exams are fine

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fee per year is 80,000. I haven't joined the college hostel and im renting a flat which costs me around 15k per month. The hostel fee as i have heard is 40000. For the students from other states it is 1,00,000 and for the student from other countries it is 1,20,000

Campus Life

4

The number of cultural fests, events and activities makes you more productive and then they bring different skills in you out to this real world. They are like the stressbusters and im enjoying college life because of them

Admission

I was mentally fixed that i would go into christ so i did not apply for any other colleges. This was more like a dream college to me, and the course i wanted and the combination i wished for was there in this college so didn't apply for any other colleges

Faculty

4.5

There are enough number of faculties in all the departments to take care of the students, but focusing on each student is little hard because of the larger number. They have a very professional relationship with students. Meljo sir and shantharaju sir from media studies are so good as they engage us in practical learning. There are two exams in a semester and they are all pretty difficult. Curriculum is relevant as they prepare the course plan every year

Performing Arts have more of practical things as from acting to direction we are taught everything. History and Theory as some theory part and the kind of career path that our course provides, I think for students interested in this, should join our course at Christ University.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because of the dual degree that it has to offer, christ is one of the very few institutions that offer dual degree and allow you to explore both the subjects or gain combined knowledge of both the subjects. The curriculum is very up to date with subjects that relate to real world problems. What i like the most about my curriculum is the Learner centric approach where they divide the class into halves so that the teacher student ratio can be maintained in order to achieve full efficiency. One area of improvement can be inculcating more soft skills traininng into it.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible to sit for placement in their final years. The companies which comes for the placement are deloitte, goldmanSachs, amazon and many more reputed companies. And they do make many offers. The highest package reports around 30 LPA and the average goes on around 3 to 4.5 LPA. Around 70-90 percent get placements. My plans is to pursue higher studies.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good. Students arw given chances to take exams and get job opportunities from there. Field trips and internships, orientations, talk shows are organized to prepare students further before stepping out for jobs. They can either take the placements they get or opt for higher studies, which is what i am doing as a degree in psychology alone does not grant a wide scope in the jobs spectrum.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements towards the final semester of their course. Currently, I have only been using the help of my faculty for internship opportunities, since I am not looking for placements. But they have connections with big names in the communication sector, and they often have personalities coming in to give talks and interact with the students. A great number of students opt for placements and approximately 90% of them do end up getting posted at really good companies. Others choose to continue with higher education. My plan after receiving my degree would be to take up a diploma in literature in the UK, while simultaneously finding myself a position at a good publishing house there.

Placement Experience:

From my seniors, I hear that 20/30 % of students from our college get placed. But now being in my final sem I know the reality. For covid and lockdown, the placement sector has been badly hit. Only a handful of companies came this year (5/6 companies). 4/5 people from our batch are placed but no placement for the big chunk of people. From 5th sem students become eligible for placements but in 5th sem, no company came to our college for placement this year. Only in the 6th sem, the placement cell started. Companies that visited till now ( some of them came to take interns and didn't offer full-time jobs) 1) Clevertize, 2) Social Panga, 3) Robert Bosch GmbH, 4) Saatchi & Saatchi, 5) Publicis, 6)PR Pundit, 7) McKinsey, 8) Edsol Edtech, 9) Momo Media, 10) MSL, 11) Genesis BC, Offers: 1.5-3 LPA (average). I plan to send CVs personally to companies through LINKEDIN and other job search platforms because the college hasn't provided us with good placement offers as claimed.
