My honest opinion about my university.

According to me, the university is doing it's utmost to provide a great learning Centre and to a great extent, it has been successful. Also, the university is to excel more and efficiently provide more opportunities to the students and make it a world class university.

The course curriculum comprises of two types of exams namely Minor and Major. Major is also called a Semester exam in many other universities. The teaching faculty is great and dedicated. Also, a student teacher friendly environment is seen in class.

Honestly speaking I had not heard any placements in my branch from the university. The students are on own, they struggle themselves to find a good job. I haven't seen any companies especially in my branch CIVIL but sometimes there are job placements for other branches. Although the university is doing some extra work to excel in the job placements. The university is giving its student's internship opportunities at the national level. I don't know what is the total amount of stipend during internship but they are compensating some amount which we will be spending during our internship. The university has introduced a placement cell and it is starting its program widely and I think it can take about at least one year to be functioning properly. And in the end, sincerely university is doing a great job by exercising great efforts in providing jobs to its varsity students.

Events are not common or can be said negligible but there are some various seminars and most importantly Fresher's Party is celebrated with great enthusiasm. Campus crowd is a great and friendly environment that has been created. Also, anti ragging squads have been kept and honestly there is no ragging recorded on the university campus. Also, the university provides a great variety for scholarships as u can check the website iustlive.com. Also, the campus is surrounded by a hill in the backside and a great view of the river Jhelum in the front. Also, the campus had been naturally gifted with trees of almonds which give a beautiful appearance to the campus in the spring season.

The fee structure is feasible with respect to other institutions. Semester fees are about Rs 30,000 excluding hostel or transport fees ( depends upon you which will you opt for). Also, exam fees have to be paid before the semester exams.

Yes, scholarships are given to students in great numbers. According to me, about 60-70% of students opt for scholarships and 90% get it. In that aspect, the university is doing a great job. Also, most of the scholarships are provided with the help of state and central government.

Extracurricular activities are great, the university organizes a great number of such activities which helps students to help express their talent and also opens our thoughts to society. Labs are outstanding with great equipments and modern technologies. Sports activities are fair enough but not so good. But it is fair to say that the university is giving a hefty amount of funds to be spent on sports.

No so many but sometimes university organizes seminars in which alumni are present and they discuss their experiences in various fields and also help us to know how to not give up on some problems which we face in future life.

Till now university was having a ratio of 80:20 ratio (80% contractual teachers with M.Tech. Qualification and 20% permanent faculty with Ph.D. ) but now under the TEQIP scheme funded by the central government. New teachers have been recruited with qualifications of Ph.D. M.Tech from some great institution e.g IIT NIT etc. The overall university is recognized for its teacher student friendly relations. The teaching method is both theoretical and practical. Teacher to student ratio is 1:20. As I am studying in 3 semesters I had not been to any of the industrial routes but my seniors had been to various industrial tours, so with this regard university great. The course curriculum is great and is getting better day by day and the limit for that is the sky.
