Remarks

As per the NIRF ranking, Miranda House is the best college in India. The three years of my Under-graduation have been the best three years of my life. All thanks to the faculty and the positive atmosphere of the college. You get to learn so much here. Ample opportunities are offered to you here. Make the most of all the opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The college follows the guidelines of the University of Delhi. All the undergraduate courses are of the three-year term. The college follows the semester system. Every year has two semesters which means there is a total of six semesters. The exam structure includes external and internal assessment. The internal assessment is of 25 marks in every paper. 20 marks are for tests and assignments and 5 marks are for attendance. Other than the regular classes, tutorials are also held for students to excel in studies. Overall, the Exam structure and Course Curriculum is not hectic at all. You get to learn so much.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement cell of Miranda House is active, responsive and offers good opportunities. The cell has ties with many corporate companies. The Placement Cell also offers a lot of seminars, internships, and discussions for various courses.

College Events

5

Tempest is the annual cultural festival of Miranda House. It is a three-day celebration. The fest brings together talent, passion, cultural activities and lots of fun. The festival includes band night, DJ night and Star night. There are also various competitions held between societies of different colleges. Apart from the annual festival, each department has its own 2-day departmental program. The English Department of Miranda House celebrates LitFest every year. The LitFest includes events like Book Bazaar, creative writing competitions, Kahwa Stop, debates, discussions. There is also a Diwali Mela held at the college every year. The college celebrates almost every festival with equal enthusiasm. It not just about the fests but the experiences that come with it.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is very feasible and practical. The total fees for B.A (H) English as of now is Rs 14160/-. The fees are paid online at the University's admission portal before a student is admitted to the college. The second and third-year students are required to pay the fees on their college's admission portal.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, I did not opt for any scholarship or education loan. However, the University as well as the college offer scholarships both on the basis of academic merit and economic background. Students from economically weaker backgrounds can avail the scholarships following the proper procedure.

Campus Life

5

Miranda House is a college for women. Students from all over the world take admission here. The college is diverse and gives equal opportunities to every student. The college helps you grow as a person with so many opportunities to offer. The infrastructure is the best providing all the facilities to students.

Alumni/Alumna

Once a Mirandian, always a Mirandian! The college has a great alumni network. An alumni meet/dinner takes place every. The seniors are also very helpful. People at Miranda House are like a family.

Admission

Apart from the merit list, the University of Delhi offers admissions through the Extracurricular Activities Category (ECA quota). Each college offers not more than 5% seats to students under the ECA and Sports quota. There are separate forms available for these categories. I got admission through the Extracurricular Activity in Indian Classical Music (Vocal). Miranda House offers 5% concession for admission on the basis of excellence in ECA. Auditions for ECA are held in the month of June.

Faculty

5

I look up to the teachers who taught me at Miranda House so much. I owe a lot to them. The faculty and the staff are the best. The teachers are so understanding. They have helped every student not just in academics but also to become a better version in every sense. I miss all the discussions we had in and outside the classrooms. Best times!

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have a keen interest in theoretical subjects. Even in my school time, I liked theory subjects more than practical or numerical subjects. This is one of the reason I chose this specific course. Another reason is that I like reading non fictional novels. At the age of 15, I started reading novels but after diving into this course I'm liking the fictional novels too. I don't think this course needs to improve anything. It is in it's best form at the point.

Placement Experience:

I think students become eligible for campus placements in 5th semester as now they are mature enough to be given such responsibility and to secure their future. I am not aware about the number of companies and offers. I am also not aware about the highest or lowest package offered but the average package for my college is ?6.5 lakhs per annum. The cgpa should be above 7.5 for better chances of getting placements. My plan is to get a good college placement in starting of the 5th semester.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I find thr course curriculum quite relevant. Geography is a very dynamic and practical subject and our course is designed that way to provide students a comprehensive knowledge of the course. We usually have two theory and one practical subject related to the course providing all the necessary learning and also preparing us for further research work.
