What Students Say

Likes

The college is not strict like private colleges.
There are lot of time for extra activities.
College also has large number of clubs which offers us different varieties of projects and works for extra curricular (SAE, ASME, IEEE,etc)

Dislikes

Syllabus may not finish in time,it's not directly college's problem actually, university is reducing period of each semesters
Nothing more bad about college to say about

Course Curriculum Overview

I was interested in space field, so I had planned to join Aerospace Engineering. But Aerospace Engineering is limited to some colleges like IIT,NIT,VIT... SO I decided to go for mechanical engineering, in which Aerospace Engineering comes, so I can try Aerospace Engineering in Mtech. All are world application level Exams usually come in periods of 5-6 months

Class Size: 69Course Fees: INR 8600 per year

Internships Opportunities

Internship is something which students have to find out themselves like which company to go for internship, what to do, where to look, which field to go, and so on. College does not directly gives or forces students to go on this particular internship, students can choose where to go and what to study

Placement Experience

Placements of our college are good. Those all who don't have any back papers are placed for good jobs with good salary packages(8-15 lakhs per annum). There are also Baja aptitude tests for students participating in MBAJA, EBAJA, HBAJA, competitions conducted by SAE which gives much more high salary packages job(25L per annum)

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution Fees per Year - Rs8600 Fees for four Years - Rs34,400 (Low fees because it's govt college) No other charges Tution Fees for backward classes are also same Exam registration fees may differ by Rs500 for different categories

Campus Life

Overall experience in campus life is best. We have freedom to do many things in college which are restricted in other private colleges (source - from friends in other colleges). There are many clubs in college compared to other colleges like SAE, ASME, IEEE, IEDC, AISA, etc. These clubs provides wide variety of competitions, project opportunities and fun.

Admission

I had rank to join CET(College of Engineering Trivandrum), which is the toppest govt college in Kerala. But I choose Mar Athanasius College of Engineering, Kothamangalam which comes third, because it's nearer to my home(15km), as well as it's the best college when it comes to mechanical Engineering and placements To entre my college we have to get atleast 6000 rank in KEAM entrance examination.

Faculty

All faculties of my department are good. My faculty is Geogekutty sir. He is very good and supportive sir. Not any faculty I dislike There are total of 52 papers including labs to be completed in 4 years Some students take honours and minors as well which increases number of papers to be cleared About 10 papers would be difficult level, rest are medium and easy level About 30-40 students failed to clear all exams

Placement Experience:

Students in 7th and 8th semester are eligible to sit for campus placements. Companies like Oracle, Goldman Sachs, L&T, Bajaj, Caterpillar and PSU's like BEL,HPCL and BPCL come to the college usually the coding companies offer aroung 35-40 LPA CTC and the core PSU companies offer around 17-18 LPA. Highest Package is 51 LPA and an Average Package of 12 LPA. Nearly 85% students from Circuit and CS branch get placed and around 60% in core branches who sit for placements, My plans after getting the degree is to join MBA to learn how business world works and how the money flows

Yes,Students will get placement from 7th semester.Many companies like Infosys,Wipro,TCS etc come for placement.Most of the companies hire in bulk from the college.Lowest CTC was 300k annually and highest CTC was 1000k annually.Almost 60 percentage students are got placed from here.Apart from placement many students prepare for all india exams like GATE,SSC JE etc

I chose this college because of the high standard education they provide. This college is right now the 4th standing best colleges in kerala. This college also have many acredations. One of the best engineering colleges in Kerala

I applied to Government Engineering College - Thrissur, College of Engineering - Trivandrum, Thangal Kunju Musliar College - Kollam. The reason I didnt get into these colleges is because my rank in KEAM was low. You have to take KEAM exam to get into Engineering colleges in Kerala. MACE FOR ME

I had applied for same courses on Muthoot institute of science and technology, as well as Fisat angamaly etc. but I realised that more of government aided college like MACE would give me more exposure in terms of my professional career than studying in self financing colleges. Also I got both of my allotments in MACE. So I choose not to change my decision. Also the placement records were quite impressive than other colleges. Admission process of my college is quite simple. It takes about 3 - 4 hours including a seminar session. The eligibility is only to clear KEAM examination and should meet following rank requirements.
