Remarks

NSS College of Engineering, Palakkad is one of the best places to get your career to begin. Here it's you who decides what you are & what you ought to be. If you want to build your career, you are on the fertile grounds. Even if you want to get destroyed in life, the evil options are never less.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

We are affiliated with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. The course curriculum is rich enough to be a master in every course you take. Within a limited time, our faculty, especially my professors of CSED, gives in their best. We have 6 theory papers in every semester and 2 to 3 labs/workshops. Each theory paper has a syllabus of 6 modules. In the first two semesters, every stream has more or less the same subjects enabling every student to have basic knowledge in fundamental engineering topics. Now about the Exam structure, I would like to really appreciate it. Strictly adhering to the university norms, we have two sets of series exams for theory papers in each sem. The series exams are conducted as per the university calendar. Usually, two subjects are scheduled on the same day. But it is not an overload since only 2 modules from each subject will be there for series tests. End semester exams are scheduled by KTU. Study leaves are provided.

Placement Experience

4.5

We have a good number of campus placements every year. Many reputed companies come to our campus solely for NSSCE products. College provides us placement training & various opportunities to improve our employability. Almost all the eligible students get at least one placement offer by the time they graduate. We have a Placement Training & Interview Bureau dedicated to the placement activities on the campus. Every department has a placement coordinator from the faculty & also a team of student placement coordinators who strive to provide students with better opportunities. Computer Science department is recently the topper in placement statistics. Also, I admit the lack of campus placements in Civil and Mechanical Engineering core areas. Often College does not provide an internship for every student. Students who are excellent in qualification get an opportunity from the college itself. But all of us are given many opportunities to avail internships at prominent companies. Various calls for interns are spread & promoted among students. Teachers are willing to provide any kind of support to make us industry-ready.

College Events

4

Being a government aided institution, very few events are celebrated in our college. Among the few, the most grandly celebrated festival is ONAM. We have plenty of festival activities that day. Yearly, the sports department organizes a Sports day and so many sports events from time to time. College level arts festival "Noopuram" is celebrated which makes the college vibrant for weeks. Also, we conduct a college day organized by the college union. Every year Union inauguration is celebrated along with fresher's day. Technical events are organized by departments.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is completely feasible, thanks to being a government aided institution. We have to pay nominal fees together with semester exam fees only, with different concessions applicable to eligible students. Compared to the education we get here, the fees are more than feasible.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are many scholarships introduced to us through college. Students receive various central & state government scholarships. Moreover, there are scholarships offered by alumni. Most of the students in our college receive a scholarship from some means. Scholarships are generally income based & fee waivers are caste based.

Campus Life

2.5

Extracurricular activities are mostly organized by college union and various student societies. IEEE, NSS, EDC, IIPC, IE, etc have their vibrant presence in our college. Labs and workshops are recently renovated. They provide moderate facilities. Computer labs are good. We have a Physical Education department in our college which leads all the sports activities in our college. Our college hosts various inter college tournaments. Intra college sports events are also held from time to time. We have a bunch of university players and sports champions in our college.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facilities are there in plenty. College hostels have limited accommodations but private options are quite attractive. College campus itself provides 3 Men's & 2 ladies' aided hostels. There is also a working women's management hostel within the campus where first year girls also can get accommodation. Aided hostels are equipped with WiFi facilities and they provide rich, tasty & healthy food. Hostels have a moderate infrastructure. Constant complaints occur about food in management hostel & infrastructure in aided hostels.

Alumni/Alumna

We have a huge network of Alumni. They are really supportive. They bring up new opportunities for students and also provide constant support in achieving greater heights. Senior students are very interactive and caring. They come up with new ways to improve both academic & nonacademic skills of the students. Often junior students find them more reliable than teachers when it comes to campus life.

Faculty

4.5

We here at NSSCE have a group of well experienced teachers. Their knowledge level is incredible. They are dedicated and caring. All the contact class hours are strictly engaged & throughput is maximum. Even when the university demands so much office works from them, they don't neglect their academic responsibilities. Teachers support us also in co curricular activities though they have some pressure from authorities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
