What Students Say

Likes

The best thing here is there is no ragging at all.And also here seniors treats us well
We can go outside the campus whenever we want,but need to return within 10:30pm
There is no language problem,but most of the campus is filled with telugu people and next tamil people where as the campus is in TN

Dislikes

There arent that much bad things but mess this year sucks because non-veg is made pay option

Course Curriculum Overview

With respect to other colleges,this institute is different because here there is a compulsary design related course which varies with other colleges.Here the sem completes in 3-4 months.Odd sem holidays are given a month and even sem holidays are almost 3 months Exams timetable is given a 2 weeks before.

Class Size: 100Course Fees: INR 230000 per year

Placement Experience

From 6th sem,students are eligible for campus placements. GamesKraft,Zoom,KLA,Mathworks etc companies came to IIITDM Kancheepuram and almost 200 offers are made. Here,the highest package is 42LPA and the average package is 10.2LPA 97.55% students got placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

Per sem,the fees is 1,10,000 approx including hostel and food.So,per year the fees would be 2,25,000 approx.Comparing to other colleges,the fees in IIITDM Kancheepuram is actually not bad because B.Tech here would be completed within 10 lakhs where as it would be approx 12-15 lakhs in other institutes.

Campus Life

Meraki fest is held in October every year. Vashist fest is held in March every year. Samgatha fest is held in April every year. There are so many books and journals available in Library which is called as Knowledge Hub here and it also provides Wi-Fi. Faculties use ppts if required here. Every year,inter IIIT event happens and also friendly matches with nearby colleges happens very frequently There are many clubs here

Hostel Facilities

There are 3 hostels here.One is Jasmine(Girls) Second one is Ashwatha and third is Ashoka. In every room a table,a chair,a bed and a cupboard is provided.Wi-Fi is also given through ethernet and food here is sometimes great and sometimes bad Hostel registeration is done by seniors.

Hostel Fee: INR 90000 per year

Admission

I didn't apply to any colleges but I wrote entrance tests of VIT,Amrita where I could get seat but there are management seats also or else we could write EAPCET to get seat.But for this college,we need to write JEE Mains.Rank varies over the category,but this is Top 5 IIITs over India.I am not rejected in any college.I chose this on my interest

Faculty

Actually,the faculty here teaches approx 90-100 students and some times the double.We can approach to their cabin or else we can mail them whenever we have problem.There are so many faculty here.Per sem there are 5-6 exams.It isn't that hard to pass the exam but we need to work hard to maintain CGPA.

Your Concise review and guide to nit trichy

Placement Experience:

The students start sitting for placement from 6th semester i.e the end of third year itself, while many students start getting job offers at the start of 7th semester itself. The placememt percentage here is very good it is around 90% amd the average placement for 2025 placement session is around 15.76 lakh or maybe higher since results are not made available to us ye, the highest offer is around 55lakh+ according to some fourth year students. The number of companies visiting us are many; they include tech giants such as google,microsoft,amazon, sony, samsung, NVIDIA, quolcomm, AMD, Yahoo and highliting companies are Ceat, Volvo, Wolkswagen, LT, Bosch, mcafee and the list goes on and on and on. i plan on getting a job and then going for higher studies in a foreign university.

Placement Experience:

Students sit for placements from the seventh semester. avg package is 12.56 lakh in mechanical branch placements is overall very good above than 87% . highest was around 62 lakhs but in circuital branch . i want a good hand salary job after that i want to give rest to my parents .

NIT TRICHY- COLLEGE REVIEW

Placement Experience:

The placements are the best part of this college. This college provides a very good placements both on and off campus to its students the placement percentage is also very good for all the branches ofcourse the placement packages are higher for students of CSE AND ECE branches but others also get a very good package. Students get eligible for placements from the 4th year some even get a PPO from the company they do their intership at in the third year. Big and Prominent comapnies visit our college such as Google, Microsoft, Samsung, Tata Steel, Qualcom, NVIDIA and more recently they gave around 900 offers to the students the highest package was aroung 65 lpa and the average package stood at 16 lpa for the college which is very good as compared to other colleges. The student placement percentage is also very good where aroung 85-90 percent of the students gets placed evey year in defferent sectors like software, Data Science, Management and Core sectors of their branch.

I applied to NIT CALICUT NIT SURATKAL, NIT TRICHY. For my trial round i got nit suratkal for EEE. But i shifted it to down and kept iiitdmk up..I chose this as it was the only college with Smart Manufacturing. Course and i was intrested in the way the curriculum was set including Cs,ece,eee Nd mechanical.As my jee score was not great to enter cse courses in nit calicut i got rejected there.
