Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Power electronics from the Electronics department took my attention as I am more inclined to practical work. The curriculum is industry oriented, we not only study the theory but make real life projects on them. There are few courses in first year which I feel are irrelevant like Enviornmental studies and Biology. Areas of improvement can be that we add few more important topic rather than focusing on topics like environmental science which can be taught as human values that doesn't hold credits. Frequency of exam is well planned and is correlated to what we are taught and emphasising on critical thinking.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

On campus paid internship are quite hard to find here, you have to be exceptionally talented for this but you can get unpaid internships easily with the help of placement cell of our college. We already have student projects and clubs that make you industry ready and families with work load and environment.

Placement Experience

4

7th student semester becomes eligible for campus placement. Many companies visited our campus with BlackRock being one of them and the placements are still going on for this year and previous year data are available on their website with highest being 51 LPA in Microsoft by CCE student. Highest package for my branch ( EEE ) was around 21 last year while average being around 7-8 LPA. Around 80% students got on campus placement offers. My plans after degree is to pursue masters.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have paid a total of 4,64,000 (including 10000 refundable caution fee) as of now for the first year excluding hostel that is 1,75,000 and including mess ( 53,000 ) and 10,000 refundable deposit. The hostel is double AC while we have options of single AC and double non AC as well ( fees increases and decreseas accordingly ). While we don't have lab fees and other hidden charges as such. For CSE related branches total tution fees increases to 19.58 lakhs for 4 years. There are few scholarships or financial aisa available like achievers scholarship where you get scholarship based on your MET ( college admission test ) as well as on basis of GPA and also AICTE scholarship for students whose parents are earning less than 8 lakhs per year, their tution fees is waived.

Campus Life

4.5

Annual fest is held every year in March named revels and technical fest is held in October named tech tatva. These festivals are one of the biggest fest across private colleges in India with prestigious colleges taking part in it like NIT Surathkal. The library has over 1.10 lakh books available in pdf format as well. They contain all genres from curriculum related books to fiction to stories. Library has 5 big halls, 3 individual and 2 group study hall with fully functional ACs and charging plugs. We have access to smart boards in our class and a camera that record our classes and the recordings are provided in impartus for the class so student missing class can see the class and others can recall what was taught. There are 3 big football, cricket and hockey field and a 7 storey sports complex named Marena with all indoor sports and gym facilities. There are many student run clubs and projects working in every field and giving practical knowledge.

Hostel Facilities

4

We have got 3 cupboards in double room with AC and fully furnished desk for study, multiple compartment to keep your stuff and attached washroom. We have multiple mess and for the one where I have enrolled it's FC2 and the food is og good quality with both veg and non veg options with multiple variety food. The menu changes everyday and covers whole Indian food with sometimes Chinese complimentary too. Registration process for hostels starts after the counselling and is based on rank and first come first serve basis. The base hostel starts from 1.10 lakhs including mess fee which is triple non AC common washroom and highest goes to 2.25 lakhs for single attached bath AC. The locality mostly comprises of students since it's a university and there are lot of students and mostly prefer to live outside for their convience. But people are sweet here and helpful as they also know about us.

Admission

I applied for Kalinga institute of information technology and MIT WPU and got selected for both but I chose Manipal over them because of the diversity I see here in terms of people, faculty, college and all. This college has one of the best college life with fun Integrated with studies and other co curriculum activities. I didn't get rejection from there but I rejected them because they couldn't compete with Manipal in terms of what I want from a college. Admission process of my college is simple, you have to give MET ( Manipal entrance test ) and Manipal takes 50% weitage from boards marks and 50% from MET for merit list. Cutoff for cse core was close to 165 in MET and 90-95% in boards or 140 in MET and 95-100 in boards as 5% bands are made for boards marks like ( 100-95=10 and 95-90=9...). After that you have to enter counselling (counselling fee is 10000) and you get selected based on your rank.

Faculty

4

As of my knowledge faculty to student ratio is very good as even for electrical course we have 64 faculty including all professors, assistant professor and lab teacher. Faculties arebvery helpful if one is busy, you can approach another faculty and they really help with academics as well as other stuffs. There's no faculty that I don't like, all are helpful to me and teach very good. If I have a doubt and I approach them they all solve it properly. There are total of 6 exams with 4 being internal done in LMS portal of college in online mode, they are quite easy as they only have one chapter at a time, then we have mid sem of moderate level and end sem of difficult level where few students fail in subject like maths and basic electrical technology. The course curriculum is different for cse related branches and core branches and very helpful for 2nd year.

Other Applied Colleges

Delhi University - [DU] | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Computer Science)

Because the college life of Manipal is at par. Being one of the prestigious universities, there's ample amount of opportunities in MIT Manipal with every resource and support from college. Not only that but infrastructure plays a vital role for me atleast

They fake a lot of their placements....now the bangalore campus currently has 40%placements but they fake the placement rates to make it look like its 80 or 90% which is sad...i heard that if u have really bad marks and couldnt get placed(a lot of ece and eee people, cause they will purposefully try to fail u so that u can apply for the couse again) they will make u sign a document were u agree u never sat for placements.

Students at RVCE become eligible for campus placements typically from the seventh semester onwards. Several reputed companies visit the campus for recruitment, offering a wide range of job opportunities to students. Some of the prominent companies include Infosys, Wipro, TCS, IBM, and Accenture, among others. These companies make a significant number of job offers across various profiles, including software development, consulting, and research. The highest package offered varies from year to year and can range from ?10-20 lakhs per annum, depending on the company and the profile offered. The average package generally falls between ?4-8 lakhs per annum. The percentage of students getting placements varies, but RVCE has a consistently high placement record, with a significant majority of students securing job offers during campus placements.
