Likes

Safe environment for Women in south campus colleges .
Cleanliness is maintained on regular basis.
Friendly environment with similar minded people.

Dislikes

Timetable may become hectic the further to move into course.
Too many students are selected during 1st year which creates overcrowding.
Professors may be at times be non friendly.

Course Curriculum Overview

Political Science course includes various topics like comparative politics , IR, Constitution and theories. It goes into every aspect of political science . For future this course helps in developing your critical thinking skills and leadership[ skills . Exams are conducted during Decembers and May in 2 sittings but they are easy if prepared properly

Class Size: 80Course Fees: INR 18000 per year

Internships Opportunities

NGOs like Pehchan , Aarambh and other like Girl Up Rooh annually releases their vacancy for ingterns. Other Various tasks are offered like HR, Content Writer , Social Media , Teaching , Graphics etc. They can be online or offline , with stipend or without , and with interviews included . You can get certificates after 3-6 months of internships which can be used to enhance your LinkedIn account for more connections.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fees is approximately 18,000/- I registered throught the CUET examination which has a registration fees of 1000 for 3 subjects and additional 400 /- for optional subject. If selected you are supposed to pay first year fees which may range 15000-17000 Scholarships and financial assistance are provided yearly , as notification comes for financial assistance from DU or any Government schemes for annual Income of 2 to 4 lac or any other eligibility criteria.

Campus Life

My college held annual fests Reverie and other fest like Zistatva for diwali and Navotsav for Navratri . In library there are plenty of books and magazines available all time for issue. We have projectors in every classroom as well as Google Chromebook classroom separately. We have a sports and various clubs for dance , drama , music , debate , mental health , eco , placement , etc

Admission

I applied to Hindu college , LSR, Miranda House but i got selected in Gargi college . I chose this college due to it close distance to my home so less travel time. The reason why i don't make it to other colleges was due to my CUET marks that didn't match up their cu off . I gave CUET for DU admission for each course there are specific subjects that you have to choose I had Political Science , English , History and Economics for my degree . Later on if you score good you go for DU CSAS to apply for various DU colleges and get selected in 3 rounds with a chance to upgrade in each round.

Faculty

Faculties are enough for the students however the no of students may surpass the faculty. Professors are approachable through online platforms or in person also they are ready to meet. Faculties that have new professors may be a bit hostile or unapproachable to meet otherwise they also warm up slowly Exams are also easy , selective study goes the best . Questions are direct and solving pyqs helps in practice.

Kamala Nehru College: Where Opportunity awaits

Likes

I really liked the environment of the college as there was a diverse set of students coming from across the country.
The faculty was top notch and was very dedicated and knowledgeable. If we faced any issue they would come up to help us deal with it.
Also i liked the infrastructure of the college as they recently added a new building and have improved a lot in sports equipments and facilities.

Dislikes

The admin section of the college is very slow and it is a hassle to deal with them. Half a time they are either on a break or on lunch.
There is sometimes non availability of chairs in classrooms like there are approx 40 chairs in each classroom but if the strength of the class is more then we have to borrow it from the next classroom.
Also you will have to take up some additional course which sometimes feel unnecessary but its not only in this particular college but in all the colleges under University of Delhi.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

My college was a girl's college. There are maximum 60students in a class. Prints were quite cheap in the college cafe.
There were many fest functions in my college. I also participated in the dance fest in my first year. We also used to go on picnics from college.
India's chief guest at the annual function was M Venkaiah Naidu.

Dislikes

College fees were very high for general category people.
The behavior of many teachers was quite rude and arrogant as if they were teaching us for free.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I wanted to do PhD in Political Science but due to percentage I took up BA program. Teachers used to provide notes but mostly I used to be off. There was nothing wrong with the college. Exam timings were good.

Infrastructure of the college is very up-to-date.
College crowd is very active and diverse, giving opportunity to learn and explore.
Teachers are very well educated and friendly towards the students.

Dislikes

Sports facilities at the college need to be improved.
Few teachers methods of teaching are traditional and outdated.
There is strict criteria for attendance, to maintain 66.7 percent

Placement Experience:

Final your students are eligible for the campus placement. Companies visited are HDFC Bank, Zomato, Swiggy, mahindra,EY, Deloitte and others. Highest package was around 30 lacs per annum and the average package is around 4 lakhs. Job profiles were mostly business analyst, research and development, PR and others. I will prepare for civil services examinations after clearing my graduation.

Our placement services is efficient and effective which always comes up with quality companies in terms of employment and package.
We have solid infrastructure which includes medical rooms, basketball ground, main ground, fest ground etc.
Our faculties expert in their teaching of respective subject where the teaching method is technology based and mentorship quality is demand based

Dislikes

Our course curriculum is relevant but sometimes it lacks little practical learning.

Placement Experience:

Student set in the placement from 5th semester where where is companies visited college for the campus placement such as KPMG, Zomato Deloitte, etc and number of offers made were not explicitly disclosed by the college and highest package was 25 lakhs and average package was 4 lakhs and profile offered were finance, marketing, etc around 70% students placed from my college and my plans after the graduation is to pursue PHD.

Moments of happiness

Likes

I liked the ration of girls and boys it's almost same .
The teaching method of teachers and the library.
College infrastructure and various opportunities and sports ground .

Dislikes

Events in college are usually too short like till 5 pm only .
Classes starts at 8:40 in winters atleast it should start by 10 .

Placement Experience:

English hons is not a course in which placement is that widespread as far as I'm aware . But our college provides placements for other courses like b.com etc and we have placement cell which keeps updating us on internship or placement opportunities and overall package is quite good .

Likes

I liked the environment and the crowd of the college, and also my professors. Like seriously they are so helpful and kind
Also what I like about this college is that it's liberal unlike other colleges of North campus
I love the ashoka lawn and the big ground in front of the gym

Dislikes

I hate the staff, especially the technical staff ( Ankita Jain ), I went to her with erp portal issue and she just didn't look after my issue properly and sent me away. It was totally unexpected. She must be removed from her position.
The canteen staff, I didn't like their behaviour
Some of the seniors are shit and not helpful

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate it 9 out of 10. The reason is simple, whatever my professors teach and everything that is there in my syllabus is really helpful for my future. Not just that, they way lectures are delivered by the professors is just awesome

Course Curriculum Overview:

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Likes

College provides a free environment for sports.
It is ragging free college and many anti ragging laws are here
One of the best features of our college is it in origanising seminar time to time.

Dislikes

There is a issue in time table uncertain classes are a problem for us
So high attendance criteria makes us in trouble.
There are not hostal facility which make a critical situation.

I chose the course because I want to become ias.approximately 100students in class . . Many proofesser are highly educated like PhD ma etc our faculty offers many opportunities.There are 6 semester in 3 years and 2 in each year .it is normal to crack the exam but hard to get High marks

Ramjas the heaven on earth

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
