Course Curriculum Overview

4

MBBS is a difficult course. All the exams from 1st year to final year are tough. With new cbme curriculum the exams are becoming more practical which is better for the students and the upcoming doctors but there is still many more aspects of the exams and the course to improve in the coming years. I think the frequency of the exams are more and more emphasis should be on objective questions rather than being subjective.

Internships Opportunities

3

There is a one year mandatory internship for all the final year past MBBS students there are rotatory posting in the various departments like medicine, surgery community medicine, otorhinolaryngology, ophthalmology, obstetrics and gynaecology emergency medicine etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

State Quota Fee:-(Per Annum) Annual tuition fee Rs. 645156 Clinical & transportation fee. Rs. 60000 Student welfare fee. Rs. 15000 Miscellaneous fee. Rs. 20000 Total fee. Rs. 740156 Management fee=State quota fee Hostel Fee=Rs. 2 lakhs/Annum Total Duration of course - 4.5 years Last 6 months college fee = Rs. 370156

Campus Life

2.5

Truly speaking the campus life at ssims is not so good the campus is small with no annual festival. The only annual fest celebrated is being conducted by the students at Ganesh chaturthi as advait. Annual cricket and football tournament is organised by the management. Books and journals are easily accessible to the students with a well organized library. the college also has digital library

Hostel Facilities

3

There are two types of rooms in boys hostel. One for 2 students/room and other for 3 students/room. All rooms are attached with toilet and bathrooms the rooms are quite spacious and well ventilated with fans and coolers attached the hostel is 6 storey building with solar panels on roof. the mess is just okay. 4 meals are being served. Breakfast lunch snacks and dinner. Breakfast is best than lunch is okay snacks are good but dinner is worst. Breakfast lunch and dinner menu is fixed for the week.

Admission

Admission into my college is through the merit list prepared after clearing the qualifying exam NEET UG. I appeared for the all India counselling as well as the state counselling and I got selected through the state quota in Chhattisgarh. I have also applied in other colleges but because of less marks and more rank I didn't made through.

Faculty

3.5

Faculties are well trained and well educated they are easily approachable and accessible. I like Meenakshi mam, Junaid Sir, Samarth Sir, Sethi Sir... and many more bcoz of their teaching style and better communication skills with students. There are three internal exams and a yearly University exam and MBBS University exams are really tough specially the first and final year.

Course Curriculum Overview:

If you're getting into MBBS, you have cleared neet and you have a slight idea of what you're getting yourself into. The subjects are tough, especially anatomy, because of the vastness of the subject. But if you're consistent and making lil efforts everyday, it's achievable without hampering the fun part of college life. Here are a few gem of resources that everyone uses for first year. Biochemistry - jambhulkar notes, Vasudevan/ satyanarayan book Lippincott for advanced studies Physiology - Sembulingam and Guyton. I swear by them. It doesn't get any simpler than this. Ganong for in depth studies Anatomy - Johari for exams Vishram Singh for easy to understand language and super simple diagrams Gray's anatomy for in depth understanding. Embryology - vishram Singh Histology - IB Singh Dissection - Cunningham or Mercy Navis There will be 2 terminal exams 1 pre University and then the final University. Don't rely on lectures to prepare you for this. You'll have to teach yoursel

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course as it was my parents dream and during childhood my paediatrician also inspired me to become a DR. This college has good faculties. In a subject department there is 1 HOD( head of department), 1 assistant professor,1associate professor, 2-3 demonstrator and many management workers. They are very helpful. Also there are 60 students so it is very helpful for students to understand what professor says. There is good communication between students and professors overall I would say a good bonding is there. All faculties MBBS graduated though some have done PHD also but they have good teaching experiences to make a student understand everything. There are 2 internal exams which are average to pass and one University exam in which you have to pass to go to next year. You have to give a supplementary exam if you fail the University exam or the final exam.
