Remarks

Overall, everything is very good. Because there is always some imperfection in perfection. And the one thing is that college life is very memorable and pleasant. My university is full of greenery which makes it very charming and the atmosphere is very positive. And last but not least it is India's 4th oldest university.

Entrance Exam, Interview

Course Curriculum Overview

4

My opinion is that material science is the best and emerging branch of applied sciences as per the demand of society. It includes the characterization of materials, quantum physics of materials, the chemistry of materials, etc. However, the scope of material science in India is less but abroad it's demand is very high.

Internships Opportunities

No. But we check out the internships of other institutions so that our thinking way may improve and get chances to explore our knowledge. For example, I have been applied for Uttar Pradesh summer research internship /fellowship in biomaterials and biotechnology.

Placement Experience

2

Job opportunities are little better. Because in a few departments there are less faculty's and facilities. Placement and all things depend upon how we impress others from our knowledge, smartness, etiquette, etc.

College Events

4

Fresher's party Farewell party Seminars Convocation Sports day Debate competitions Essay writing competition And many other events. In sports day all the teachers and students take part in various types of games like chess, cricket, football, badminton, etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

In my material science department, there is a 2000 INR of annual fees. And the fee structure depends on the courses we opt for. But the overall fee structure is feasible for a middle-class student.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

There is no loan facility offered by the university. But Uttar Pradesh government scholarship is available.and me itself got UP government. And few central government scholarships are available. And there are many more national and international scholarships which is available.

Campus Life

4

Extracurricular activities include meditation classes in morning and evening, speaking courses of foreign languages like French, Russian, Chinese, Spanish, etc. In sports, cricket, football, badminton, table tennis, hockey, kabaddi, etc. Every year players play state level cricket tournament.

Hostel Facilities

2

I give 8/10. Hostel infrastructure and facilities are fine but the hostels are allotted to students very late. And in hostel allotment, there is strong politics involved between student union president and the Head of all hostels.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is very helpful for a student because they suggest us and guide us to do like this... Not like this. Every year university hostel students organize alumni function in which they share their ideas and views which includes how to prepare for IAS examination, PCS, IPS, NET, JRF, etc.

Exam Structure

There is a semester system at Allahabad University. In each semester, there is three test and final semester exams in December or May. The three tests are as follow... 1st is... T1 2nd is... Mid sem. 3rd is... T2.

Admission

I applied for the material science. The application form will be open in last week of April. And then after I passed through an entrance test which is held on June's first week. After the entrance test, the result will be announced in the third or fourth week of June. And then admission started from July 1st week.

Faculty

3.5

In my material science department, all the faculties are from NIT's, IIT's and other eminence institutes of India. Because there are lesser institutions in India which have Post graduation or Ph.D. in material science.

Meerut College, M.Sc Computer Science

Remarks:

Okay so I'm gonna give you a detailed description of my admission procedure. As I decided to pursue M.Sc Computer Science from my home town only, I needed to apply for admission by registering myself in the university i.e. Choudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut. Few days after registration, first merit was released and I was selected there and then. I got a call from my college i.e. Meerut College and I went for the admission. I was really skeptical about it in the first place because this college was renowned for its political culture and bad people driven environment especially for girls. But still I decided to go further. I still remember my first day in the college was on 10/08/2018. As I entered the college and went to my department, I was relieved to see that our department (Department of Professional Courses) was entirely separate from all other traditional departments. Since Meerut College is really ancient (estb.1892), it doesn't have the modern infrastructure and gives the feel of that really old colleges. But my department (as it's newly built) was somewhat better than the rest. Hereby I'll mention the pros and cons of my total experience of 2 years in the college. Pros: 1. Teachers are really qualified. 2. Regardless the strength of the class, classes were held regularly. 3. Entire course was completed by the teachers before the exams and also good notes were given. 4. Seniors were helpful in giving notes and previous year question papers. 5. Scholarships were given to almost every student who applied for it through UP Scholarship and Fee Reimbursement Scheme. Cons: 1. No extra curricular activities like games, annual events, freshers and farewell parties, etc. 2. No modern infrastructure like ACs, well-built washrooms, canteen, etc. 3. Out of the strength of 38, max 10 students came to college regularly. 4. No in-campus placements.
