- The college doesn't provide a good canteen facility which would enable the students to have a healthy meal in case anyone feels hungry during the college hours.
- The building needs to maintained properly. It must be clean.
Course Curriculum Overview
Since I wanted to become an English Professor, the course really helped me a lot in getting an insight into English Literature. The professors are very encouraging. The curriculum not only relies on the traditional method of teaching but also various co curricular activities are conducted to prepare the students for the real world. Each student is given an opportunity to prove herself. As the exams are conducted annually we get a lot of time to prepare accordingly.
Fees and Financial Aid
Jagat Taran Girls Degree College is affiliated to University of Allahabad. It is situated at heart of the city of Allahabad. This college was established by Jagat Taran Education Society in order to encourage the girls to pursue higher education from a place where girls are highly valued and respected. The college offers UG, PG and PhD courses. Under the UG program, one can pursue either B. A with a combination of 100+ subjects or B.Com as well. The college has recently started their PG programs in subjects like Economics, Sanskrit and Geography and also provides PhD in limited subjects. JT Girls Degree College conducts various seminars and activities time to time in order to enhance the knowledge of the girls and also for personality development. Apart from the academic courses, the college facilitates girls to opt for NCC in order to make them ready for the future. The professors are highly qualified and caring. The environment is very peaceful and nurturing. The fees is very nominal as the college is affiliated to University of Allahabad which is a central university. Girls from diverse backgrounds are welcomed at JT Degree College and they study and learn together.
Campus Life
The college organises Annual functions every year. Annual Sports Day is also conducted. The various departments organise their own seminars time to time. The college library has a plethora of books both in English and Hindi to cater the needs of students with various linguistic backgrounds.
Admission
I didn't apply to any other college as JT Degree College is very near to my home making it convenient to come and go. The fees structure is also very nominal. It's approximately Rs. 3000 for 3 years. To get admission in this college, one must qualify the CUET conducted by UGC. Admission process is very smooth. All the documents are verified by the admission department.
Faculty
The faculties are highly qualified and experienced. Most of them are Associate Professors such as Deepshikha Banerjee, Kajal Deb, Ratna Bhattacharya, Shruti Mehta, Neelam Mishra, Neelam Kant, Shikha Dixit etc. They not only teach but also care for their students. Exams are conducted once in a year that is annually. The course curriculum is very relevant as it prepares the students for their PG programs.
Night Life
There's no particular nightlife kindly of a thing. They have a very small canteen which is a common canteen as they share it with the CBSE board school in the same campus. The food provided there is just Tea and Samosa and some chips at times. They need to work on the canteen. But yes there many cafes near the college where girls can go and have lunch in between breaks. It's not that safe to around near the college at night.
