- The infrastructure is top notch here. The famous white building is everyone dream to crack IIT
- The Gymkhana is very active here all the facilities required for recreation is fulfilled here
- The mess food is also quite decent and the night canteen and food stalls are above average
Dislikes
- The strict attendance policy in some course
- The connectivity of the city is little bad .
- The weather here is very humid and hot and it rains quite often increasing the humidity
Course Curriculum Overview
Our course is bit easier than other branches. The things which are taught are quite relevant and required in the industrial market. The curriculum is designed in a way to teach students basic of all types of engineering with deep knowledge of their respective branches. We do have some courses related to other .branch for our better knowledge
Internships Opportunities
You can apply for internship in the second year but very few people get intership in the second year. Most of them do internships in the third year. Almost all big companies come for internships and offers entry level role and projects to work on. The monthly stipend ranges from 25k to 1lakh also .
Placement Experience
The campus placements started from the 7th semester. Many people do their internships in the third year and they get a PPO . Many get placed in the non core sector mainly in the finance and consulting. The highest package was around 55 lps and the average was 20lpa . Almost 85-90% students get placed in college placement. Some opt for higher studies or prepare for other exams
Fees and Financial Aid
The merit cum need scholarship is for students whose family income is less than 6 lakhs per annum . In this scheme then get a monthly amount of around 5 thousand. There are also a scholarship for BS degree students to promote research
Campus Life
We have our annual cultural fest called spring fest and the annual tech fest called Kshtij. The Library facility is top notch with over 10k books in total. The sports facilities is very good here . There is separate grounds for almost all indoors and outdoors games . The clubs are very active here more than 30 clubs run in the campus,all are controlled by the the students.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel is very spacious. In first year you have to live in triple occupancy rooms. After first year you can get a single double or triple room . The mess and hygiene facilities are very good and they all function smoothly. The hostel has it own football cricket and basketball ball . Table tennis tables are also installed here along with night canteens and stationary shops
Admission
To get admission into IIT you have to pass the JEE exam . I only applied for other IIT as well in jossa counseling. IIT Kharagpur is near my home so I preferred it . It was my first preference in josaa . You need 75% marks in your 12th standard plus good rank in JEE advanced to get into IITs
Faculty
Many faculties are quite good they teach with full dedication..and some just wrap the syllabus up . The ends sems exam a bit tough. You need to study for a month to get good marks. The TA are always available to help us and they are quite friendly.
