Course Curriculum Overview
Right now in you first year you will learn mostly the basics of your subject and not have much of the practical work, you will also have yoga and peace studies which will be your university core subject and is compulsory to all.
Internships Opportunities
since im in first year im not much aware about the internship process and all but ive heard the placements from my university can be sometimes great or bad, some give a decent pay like for example we've gotten ndtv and all etc that have reached out to students.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
I am an NRI student studying at MIT WORLD PEACE UNIVERSITY pune pursuing a degree in media and communications, and i would like to share some information regarding the fees, etc: My university provides a 50% scholarship to NRI,OCI,foreign students, etc. The total fees per annum is 2.15 lakhs in which if you get a scholarship you pay half, we also paid a deposit of 20k before the fees a one time payment. There are also many other scholarships opportunities for non nri or oci or general students.Although to maintain the 50% scholarship you need to have 70% in each subject no matter what. The fees is quite manageable due to the scholarship.
Campus Life
There are events and festivals happening almost every week, some or the other clubs come up with event or programs, etc as for the clubs we have a vast variety of departmental and university clubs dedicated to different many sports events and clubs we have many libraries where students can sit and study and also borrow books
Hostel Facilities
To be very honest the amount of money we are paying is not worth the hostel facilities we get, the hostel management is not properly organized or have very poor communication, at one point they over book the hostels, the food isnt that great aswell but since i am in first year i decided to stay in the mit hostel for first year then move out to a PG. the hostels are in different localities some being 15 mins far from the university and some closer, the area of my hostel isnt that great as there is nothing much to do but the other ones are pretty great. We have shuttle busses to and from hostel to uni and vice versa.
Admission
i was gonna apply to colleges in mumbai as i would get through sindhi minority but i got to know about the scholarship here and researched more about my course in this university and felt like it was the right fit for me as even though my university was a very engineering and science focused i love the vibe and the faculties
Faculty
The faculty are amazing they are the most helpful people you can find and they are always very welcoming. As for the exams since its my first year i havent given exams yet but we have many assignments and midsems and end of semester exams but in my course Media and communications a lot more priority is given to assignments. In order to sit for an exam your suppose to have 80% attendance in each subject and maintain a particular credit score.
Other Applied Colleges
Jai Hind College - [JHC] | Bachelor of Mass Media [B.M.M.]
i got scholarship in my current uni
