Remarks

It is a nice college if your rank is not that good in jee or in wbjee. It is also feasible for a lot of private colleges. But there is no campus life here. It is very boring. Girls hostel in time is 6 PM. People are very conservative here.

Entrance Exam

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum is nice. It covers the syllabus of the gate. The theory portion is more and the practical portion is given less importance. It is not as good as its and nits but it is okay. It is average and okay.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, it does but not to all the students. There are companies who come for internships but they hardly take 3-4 students. The experience is good and stipend varies between 8000 to 15000 rupees per month.

Placement Experience

2.5

Placements depend on the branch you choose. In CS and IT department, there has been almost 80% placement. In ECE, it is almost 60%. But other branches like EE, ME, Civil, etc have to suffer as very few core companies visit the campus. Also, since the college belongs to the Techno India group, for each and every placement drive, one has to travel from Asansol to Kolkata to attend it. The companies don't visit our college campus.

College Events

0.5

There are very fewer events that are celebrated in the college. There is no freshers Or farewell. There is no teachers day celebration. There is just a fest named 'Leganza' and small events like electronic innovation and civil mirage.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is better from all the private colleges. It's around 50000-60000 per semester. The hostel charges are around 15000 for 4 months. The mess fee is 2200 per month. So in total, it is a feasible college.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is a tuition fee waiver for poor students who are below the poverty line. There are some scholarship schemes for OBCs and SC STs. There are some scholarship schemes for girls too. There are no loan schemes in Asansol engineering college.

Campus Life

4

Labs are AC. Labs are nicely built. There are very few extracurricular activities that take place in our college. Cultural events are highly discouraged due to conservative mindsets of the faculties. A lot of sports events are held in which the faculties also participate.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students and alumni are very helpful. Most of the alumni are placed in TCS as TCS is the only company that recruits in mass from our college. The seniors help us a lot in studies and also in various project works.

Exam Structure

We have two internal assessments in a semester and then practicals and then the final semester exam. It is a four-year course with 8 semesters in total. In the first year, you have to study only 3-4 subjects in a sem and then no of subjects increases as you go in 2nd yr.

Admission

I appeared for wbjee. I secured 17000 ranks. Then there was choice filling. I gave options like techno India, asansol engineering college etc. In the very first counseling, I was allowed for ece department in Asansol engineering college. We had to attend the counseling center (many locations in West Bengal, had to choose one) and then further admission process took place in the college campus itself.

Placement Experience:

Well as far as mh knowledge students get to placements from 6th semester itself . Well there are placement classes from 3rd semester itself . The placement track record of the college is quite good with most year about 90% gets placed with good companies comming like Deloitte, EY GDS , JP MORGAN, Oracle , offering high amount of placement offers like around 20+ lpa . Well I am not sure about my plans maybe if the palacement is good I'll take it or will be preparing for GATE (Whose courses are also provided from college .)

Placement Experience:

The senario of placement in all of the private colleges of West Bengal are more or less the same. Majority of the students are placed in Service Based Companies like TCS, Wirpo, Infosys, HCL, Accenture, Cognizent, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, etc. These companies offer anywhere from 3.6 to 6 lpa packages. Only a handful of Product based companies come in these private colleges and cherry pick 2-3 student per college only. This is the reality of all the private colleges, not just our college. If you want to crack a high paying job, you will have to do it off campus. The students are eligible for internships from the 6th semester itself. The college does try to provide internship to students but only a few students end up getting the internships and most students need to find internships on their own. Some companies which came in 24-25 session which offered an internship and PPO are Amazon, SAP Labs, Accenture, etc. For a detailed placement stat, go to our college's website and look for training and placement stats. The college is honest in putting these stats. The stats are mostly reliable. The highest off campus placement in 24-25 session was by Snehadeep De, who secured a SDE role in Amazon with 47 lpa CTC. This was off campus so the college had no role to play here. The highest on campus placement was by two students in the company Juspay. They were offered the SDE role for 27 lpa CTC. The average placement of all the CS branches will be around 5-6 lpa. And approximately around 60-65% of the students get placed. This is the ground reality. And its the same in all of the WB private colleges. If you want to keep a backup option in case you don't want to get a 3.6 lpa job then start preparing for GATE, CAT or Civil Services from your second year. Its always preferred to have a backup option cause you can't trust a private college for providing you jobs.

The minimum placement opportunities of our college is good . If you are in good in aptitude, Group discussions and your CV and technical skills are strong then you can easily crack a 7-10lpa job from our college. Overall our college provides decent opportunities for our placements but you need to maintain certain GPA to sit on those placements

After the 6th semester we are eligible for the internship, also we can apply for both on campus and off campus placements. In our college some companies like Geotech, Infosys, Code Clouds, Unibit solutions visit every year. Average package is in the range of 3.5-5 Lakhs per annum and highest package is nearly 6-7Lpa. But post covid time our placement record decreased a bit. Nearly about 80-85% of CSE students get placed every year. Also I am currently appearing in interview of different companies for placement.
