What Students Say
Likes
- Deen Dayal Upadhyay College have great infrastructure comparetively and has good updated technical system. The staff and teachers are really good. Specifically for the teachers, their teaching style and their behaviour both are top notch.
- Engagement in campus life solely depends on the individual, but there are not many events organised in DDUC, they are more driven towards studies than cultural activities. But their are enough activities organized by the societies for you to enjoy.
- Having NSUT besides is a perks if you are a party basher. As NSUT is known for its fest, so being a DDUCian, you have a good access to those.
Dislikes
- Being an off campus college, the location of the college is not ideal. You may find yourself bored of everything around easily as it doesn't have much to do or see around.
- The canteen is not that good, it's average. The food and price are just okayish.
- You may suffer for water supply, mainly drinking water from time to time. So make sure you have your own water bottle with you.
Course Curriculum Overview
Choosing this course can be highly influenced by the curriculum. The curriculum is relevant as long as the concept is considered, it still lacks the practical approach that is needed for the real world. You have to learn for the corporate world, but knowledge vise the curriculum is much relevant. I would suggest more corporate knowledge and skills to be induced in the curriculum. I would suggest to have more practical approach to be introduced and taught than the bookish knowledge. The exams are 2-3 more or less including semester exam per subject per semester.
Internships Opportunities
Every year, new companies visit and offer interships, paid of unpaid. Stipend lies in the range of 10-15K per month. The internship roles offered are usually HR, business analyst, content writer, sales, marketing, etc. The tasks being recruitment, completing sales target, business data analysis, creating data sheet on excel, etc. There's one VCS being offered to students by the University twice a year for second year students. The internship duration lies from 2-6 months. It can be WFO or WFH.
Placement Experience
One is eligible to sit for placement from their final year. This year placement offers were quite low in comparison to past years data. The average package for over course was 4LPA. Placement percentage is yet to be revealed. The highest package was 8LPA as of now( September, 2024). Around 25+ companies visited the college for different profiles.
Fees and Financial Aid
The course fees is around 60000 INR for gen. The fees can vary for different courses. This is what I paid for CBCS BCom Hons. The fees for the first year was around 16000 INR, including college tution fees, development fees, fest and cultural event fees, etc. Maintanence charge were the most costly one. In the final year the fees was around 25000INR due to college construction work going on the charges for the same was high and added to the fees. As per the new information the fees for the NEP students are really high comparetively due to the introduction of multiple programs and benefits added. There's a refund for the fees also available to some proportion of the fees as initiated with the help of student council of the college. Many scholarships are available. Some for economically weak section. Some for SC/ST/OBC. Some for high scorers. The scholarship if scored cover most of the college fees. It's easy to score the scholarship. (P.s.- This data is solely based on my experience)
Campus Life
Infrastructure of our college is great being one of the newly constructed building. Library is good but books available are outdated. Sports and extracurricular activities are coming into form after a long break due to COVID. The facility and technology are updated. We got ACs and projectors in the classrooms. There are many events being organised during the 3 day annual fest in March/ April and some in between as in mid year event by different clubs and societies of the college. There are social groups like NSS, EOC, etc. There are many unofficial pages run by students themselves for the engagement of college students to share their experiences and more.
Admission
My admission process was completely online. I selected Deen Dayal Upadhyay College over many others due to many reasons. Some of them being it's distance from my home was the least, so time saving. It has better rating than the other DU colleges I was offered. So these were some driving reasons for me. Eligibility for admission depends upon the CUET rules and cutoffs. Being one of the top colleges in DU, the cutoff for admission is relatively high. Overall admission process is easy and hassle free if you opt for online one.
Faculty
The college has enough teacher for the students. The faculty to student relationship is good mostly. Faculty for commerce and management in our college is great, being their student, i never find any difficulty in interaction with the teachers whether for personal or professional reason. As for other faculty I never had any such interaction to comment on that. As for the exams, there aren't much exams. Just some internal assessments and projects and viva, which may vary in numbers depending upon the subject, the teacher, the university criteria, etc. The exam as for the semester exam are of medium to high difficulty, again based on the subject and course or your luck. The failing ratio is low. The course curriculum is much relevant as long as the exams are concerned.
