Likes

A very good placement cell that brings in many job opportunities.
A very spacious and vast campus to hangout in the free time.
Good library that has both academical and non-academical books.

Dislikes

Food from the canteen can be improved a bit.
The college should offer more sources of enjoyment.
Sometimes,the college rules seem to be a bit strict.

Course Curriculum Overview

I am satisfied with the course curriculum.My course is a new one in B.Tech so it is different from what students in most of the colleges study.My course includes advanced topics like Virtual Reality and we could experience lab sessions for the same,which was really good.Exams are relatively easy to pass.

Placement Experience

The placement opportunities are very good in my college.From 7th semester,students become eligible for placements.Companies like IBM,TCS,CTS,UST etc. visit the campus.Average package is 4-5 LPA and highest package is 12 LPA or more.A high percentage of students get placed every year.

Fees and Financial Aid

Regular year wise fee is 80,000. In addition to that,there is also special fees. 10,000 rupees should be given as caution deposit at the time of admission. There are merit scholarships based on the marks in higher secondary examination.

Campus Life

The intra college arts fest Arangu takes place every year and the Inter college arts fest Bharatham takes place once in every 2 or 3 years.They usually take place in the month of May or June.Tech fests happen once in 2 or 3 years.Library has a good range of books and journals.There are facilities for sports items like cricket, football, badminton, table tennis, chess, volleyball, basketball etc.Clubs like ACM and IEEE are very active.

Admission

I chose this college because it is near to my house so i can easily reach there daily.Also,I have heard that this is the best college in my area that offers more placement opportunities.I didn't apply to any other college,I only applied here and I got the admission.

Faculty

The college has a very good faculty.Most of them maintain a good relationship with the students.There will be 2 series tests in each semester for all subjects.A good percentage of the students manages to pass in them.

OUR COLLEGE LIFE

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Main companies visiting the campus are IBM , TCS ,TATA ELXSI,L&T, Cognizant,Toshiba,Vanenburg,Kalkitech,Sobha,Mrf ,Juspay,Dynolt and many more. 70 % students get placement Highest package is 16 lpa and average is 5 lpa After degree higher studies can be considered.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the course curriculum is lakhs relevance to modern industry demands. while it covers the basics there is minimum focus on practical skills emerging technologies and real world applications overall, the courses not comprehensive enough.

Is engineering here worth it?

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

There was cut off for the admisiion process i think the cut off was around 45000 in the keam rank. Based on the rank you will get a seat in the merit. There are several scholarship for the students who all are financially not stable...Read More
