Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

My course is biotechnology so obviously it based on reasearch field. Our course focus on both theoretical as well as practical. The research part influenced me to take this course. We get to do lots of different practicals related to biology, physics as well as chemistry. Though I'm not really got at physics and chemistry but I get to learn a lot from my course as we have to study not just biology but physics and Also chemistry. The frequency and timing of exam completely depends on the subjects we have for NEP students we got 6 subjects so the exam lasts half a month and as for internals it all depends on the faculty that take that course

Fees and Financial Aid

So the year i took admission NEP2020 was introduced due to which the fee got increased During admission i paid almost 22000/- and it's both admission as well as first semester fee then for the second semester i paid 12000/- rupees and for the recent 3rd semester i paid 23800/- according to this fee structure even semesters have lesser fee than the odd semester

Campus Life

2.5

The campus isn't very big so there's not that much space to roam around and we only got one basketball court and that's it. There are a lots of different clubs in our college and it's up to students which club they want to take part in and they even have to pay admission fee to be part of a club There are different student associations for students of different states that came to study in shillong. We've got different events mostly seminars in college and the most awaited event is college week where students gets to dress different and enjoy a bit time of happiness Our college don't really held events like other colleges so yeah that's a con here. We mostly have classes and that's all. But once in a while they held some events but that also is either seminar or orientation

Admission

I first applied for a nursing college and due to some unreasonable circumstances they pushed my roll no back due to which I didn't get the admission and also because of this a year of mine was got wasted so I didn't had much choice and choose the college that my brother introduced me to. I did applied for few colleges and also got admitted but I didn't liked the faculty as well as the college. In our college the admission process is based on first come, first serve basis and got different eligibilty for different course. So for science course more than 65% is needed and entrance exams are for i guess two courses. And once you get admission you have to pay within 24 hours to secure your seat and that admission fee is both for your admission as well as first semester fee

Faculty

3.5

The faculty is different depending on the department. Some departments have less professors while some got a lot. In my department the faculty is sufficient. The HOD sir is really great with great sense of humour. Sir help us a lot with our doubts. Rest of the professors are great but they most of the times cancel classes a minute before the class and their teaching skill is great. My favourite faculty i would say is botany department, the professors are like God they are so great, they help us with everything, the exams, internals, assignments, etc. they are so amazing. I really wish for all the professors to be like them. There are class tests before the internal exam or during the midst of the semester then before finals we've got assignment, practicals, practicals record submission, exam fee submission then we've got finals

Other Applied Colleges

Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences - [SSUHS] | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Nursing)

I passed the exam, also was called for the counselling but then they held the exams for tea tribe people and pushed my roll no behind that's why I didn't get the admission

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum of my course is pretty good and helpful with proper teaching about the subject, it is also helpful for real-life work and activities with proper hands-in skills teaching and theoretical knowledge. But there is a big setback that it is not recognised by the Indian council of agricultural research(ICAR). Recognition by the ICAR will have a big boost in the course and department

Course Curriculum Overview:

Although this is a private college still it has recognition for the efficiency of this college. I wasn't interested in medicine and engineering. so I had to do a BSc so this college is one of the best in North East India. From the chemistry department, there are various scopes such as the food industry, oil industry, wax industry, ONGC, OIL, and various jobs. The teaching method is efficient and if there is any chance to improve then I would like to say that faculty should monitor that every student is being facilitated with proper materials.
