Remarks

I graduated from Sankardev College last year in B.Sc Chemistry Hon. The college is affiliated to North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong. The infrastructure has a lot of scope of improvement.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course structure was updated as per the university guidelines. We learned a lot during our three years course. The seniors helped us with the notes, which were sufficient enough to get us through the exams. We also had to select one additional subject and a language subject.

Placement Experience

4

There is no placement support provided by the college.

College Events

3.5

All festivals like college weeks, teacher's day, children days, annual day are organized to entertain the teachers or students. Our college actively participates in the intercollege sports tournaments happening in the region.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee for one year was a little less than in 20000. Our college also offers scholarships and fee relaxation for students in need.

Campus Life

4

Life is great, I feel like a different person when I am in that college, even though I'm not that kind of person who interacts or be friendly with the teachers like other students. I learned a lot from college.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

There is only one hostel for Girls. The facilities provided are also good. The fee is around Rs 4K-5K per month. No PGs are available nearby. The food is very good, feels like homemade food. It is pretty much affordable and cost around Rs 10-15 for snacks and tea, Rs 30-40 per full meal.

Admission

The admission is on a merit basis. The NEHU university prepares a merit list by ranking students on the basis of their class 12 marks.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum of my course is pretty good and helpful with proper teaching about the subject, it is also helpful for real-life work and activities with proper hands-in skills teaching and theoretical knowledge. But there is a big setback that it is not recognised by the Indian council of agricultural research(ICAR). Recognition by the ICAR will have a big boost in the course and department

Course Curriculum Overview:

Although this is a private college still it has recognition for the efficiency of this college. I wasn't interested in medicine and engineering. so I had to do a BSc so this college is one of the best in North East India. From the chemistry department, there are various scopes such as the food industry, oil industry, wax industry, ONGC, OIL, and various jobs. The teaching method is efficient and if there is any chance to improve then I would like to say that faculty should monitor that every student is being facilitated with proper materials.

Well, it is a great experience at my college. People are quite open-minded and positive always giving help to those in need. The teachers are quite friendly and always helpful. The college facilities like the library and study materials are quite fine. The college campus is also big enough to feel free to walk around. In short about my college it is one of the best.

Remarks:

The college management is very polite and kind. Overall, I think that I finally know why it is one of the top colleges. It has made such a positive impact on me and given me the confidence to face the real world. It has taught me that being timid and shy is of no use. The fees are feasible even for common people and faculties are well trained. It got all what it needs to be a good college and yes it is. I would recomment it to everyone.
