Remarks

I had been pursuing a Bachelor of Arts from Sankardev College. It’s been an amazing journey for me. I have a very strong bonding with my college, and I will definitely recommend it for someone who is aspiring for higher studies in the Sikkim region.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The class usually had up to 6-7 periods per day. Projects/Assignments are given to all the classes in a different course to help us understand the structure of different topics.

College Events

3.5

The college is active in terms of extracurricular activities and sports events. Many workshops and field visits are a regular part of the course curriculum.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee for one year B.A. program is 15k which is to be paid in two instalments. The fee is pretty nominal and the facilities provided are also good. The college has a hostel, auditorium, library and all the basic amenities.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

Our college offers scholarships to the toppers. Students belonging to the reserved categories are also eligible for availing the scholarships. All State/National Scholarship are available. Around 200 students get scholarship each year.

Campus Life

4

My days in Sankardev College are very memorable, I got to do things that I haven't done before (singing and dancing). All the students are very kind and friendly and we got to discuss or talk about anything. My overall experience in this college is excellence.

Admission

The admission process was pretty straightforward. I secured good marks in class 12. My cousins have studied from college and they recommended this college.

Faculty

Teachers are very friendly, and the methods they use are very interesting and make us listen/curious more about any section/part they teach us.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course I have taken is BA history Hons. The reason for this decision is to prepare for NET. The curriculum is very broad that it has provided new knowledge and preparations. The teachings should focus more on the subjects and not to go too much beyond it. The timing of examination is usually morning , and the difficulty level is 5 out of 10

Course Curriculum Overview:

In UCC, earlier my brother and sister also studied and i could not make in Anthony's and Edmund's, so I choose this college. The allocation of college is one the best I have seen so far. It is best for those who want to be something in life because the college is little bit far from the main town and the local near this college also not allow any consumption of alcohol, drug, weed etc in the village. They even not allowed to sell them. I like this college as it is. So I don't want to comment on the improvements. The timing odlf exams is similar with other colleges, 3 hours.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

I only started this year so I don't know how much fees in total I have to pay in a year, but i paid forst installment 7100 after getting admission, i think i will need to pay 7100 or more for every semester. If a student wants to go to the college gym, then they have to pay 1000 monthly for it. My batchmates taking BSC pays more, if I'm not mistaken he paid around 19,000 for first installment. I haven't really applied for scholarships yet since i only got admitted not long ago, and about the merit cum needed, i think if a students get a good grade then they do not need to pay their fees, I'm not really sure.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the curriculum a 8/10. Although, we have a very creative bunch of teachers, there is a need to update the curriculum. We still follow traditional methods of learning which creates a hige problem bridging the gap between the education here verses the education abroad.I belief that there is a need to shift to a more field oriented form of education rather than a theoretical approach to the study. In that sense, there is a need of total reform.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose B.A Economics because I wanted to learn about different economic theories, principles, and their application in various contexts. This course helps in understanding various economical and financial aspects of the real world such as banking, insurance, trade, market, real-estate etc. Also it provided many career options such as financial analyst, economist, market research analyst, banking sector, teaching sector etc. There can be improvement in the syllabus by including many more useful topics like trading and stock markets. The exams are conducted by the end of every semester based on the routine passed by NEHU. There are three exams every semester, one major and two elective subjects. The exams are not too difficult but also depends on preparation.
