- I liked the campus it was huge with great views sorrounded by umiam lake its beautiful
- Chappel or Church where every student attend whether you are hindu they used to attend
- Some many programs are being help like skill india,computer classes for free
Dislikes
- The classrooms they were kind of old it wasnt renovated
- Yeah there is water issue over in shillong in rainy days the water gets dirty which no one would like to drink so we have to buy our own water ....college authorities also provide fresh water when it becomes a big issue
- The instruments for field study in geography are too old some doesnt work
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose this course because i wanted to study geography and to know about it and i had to choose this institution because in Tripura there was no good college which provide BA geography honours so i had to move to Meghalaya...it is fun to study during 5-6th semester where we have to do field study with different instruments the are so amazing and in 6th semester they take us to trekking but unfortunate we were not taken because of exams ....the Nehu exams are so hard
Fees and Financial Aid
The institution ask every students for fees in 3 installment for first year and the rest only 2installment its very hard to pay in 2 installment and if you have any problem you can also write an application they will grant ....there is scholarship programs we get 27,700rs in a year Our fee includes swimming pool fee,wifi But the swimming pool is not in use they are not fixing and wifi was recently literally last month they fix
Campus Life
College week happens once in two years ...and there they organize inter hostel where students from different hostel used to participate with there different different jerseys it is fun....the library is good but it lack most of the books for me as a geography student i didnt there books that i needed in my 3years and there is student body called SRC where we students elect them through voting and any problems related to student in campus can be reached to the authorities through them
Hostel Facilities
The room is small we had to stay with roommate there are 7 boys hostel and i got in windham which was the oldest hostel in the college during exam time it was hard to study because the room is already conjusted and we had to study together i am a guy who likes to study alone with loud voice so it wasnt possible ....the meal quality is very bad on tuesday morning they give chole bature where they served only 2 paratha you can't even ask them .....the food is very bad i wont recommend if you can cook you can stay in pg or rent few walkind distance after the last hostel
Admission
There was nothing that hard to get into this institution it is like first come first serve theres no entrance exam...there are no reservation type we can apply to this college from Union christian college meghalaya website every notice can viewed from the site only...the exams are held 2 times in a year and trust me they are difficult
Faculty
They are highly qualified and the HOD is highest salaried person in the college they are good they often rush at the last moment the teachers are very much friendly and they are surely approachable for student like me
