Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this subject because I wanted to be a researcher since quite long amd chemistry suites best for that . This field is mot that crowded or hyped but definitely builts a good future career . The teaching methods vary from teacher to teacher . Sone teachers ate excellent in explaining the topics but some teachers lack in conveying their knowledge although the notes provided by all the teachers are very useful. The exams can be taken twice a sem as it will help us to prepare half the syllabus beforehand instead of all the syllabus all at one and it will also initiate regularity in studies.
Internships Opportunities
Every semester or year a Principal Internship Scheme (PIS) is offered to students and those who qualify its eligibility can work on it . Usually the rank holders of every department are chosen due to their excellent CGPA . Other than that you can always apply for internships outside the college. Moreover placement cell also offers internships regularly.
Fees and Financial Aid
The annual fee that I paid in my first year (2023) was around 23990 . But in my second year (2024) the fee was reduced for all the courses and years . Now it is 19970 for Bsc(hons) Chemistry. This includes tuition fee , registeration fee , lab fee etc . Students have to pay examination fee later every semester before exams . The amount depends on the subjects you have opted . If you have a practical subject then 200 rs per practical subject is charged along with theory charges . I paid 2120 rs as examination fee per semester (I had all 7 subjects as practical) . The college offers scholarship to first rank holders of every class every year and a concession in fee is also provided . The fee is same for all castes expect for PWD where it is less .
Campus Life
The annual fest called 'VIBRATIONS' takes place every year in the college around feb-march . It's a two day fest and different events are organised by different cultural societies and a singer is called at the night of last day . Their are around 49 societies available in college so their is a vast variety to choose . All of them are very active and fest of every society takes place as well . You should join societies as it helps in making friends, living college life and improves your overall personality. Our college has the biggest library in Delhi University and has a vast variety of books so you'll never fall short of readings and notes .
Admission
This college was not my first preference. I had applied to various colleges of Delhi University. This was indeed the best college from off campus of DU . But , certainly my first preference was college from north campus like Miranda house, hindu college, hansraj, kmc , ramjas etc and then it was south campus like venki , arsd , gargi , maitreyi etc . But due to my merit i got this college alloted . The admission process was based on the score you achieve in CUET UG. And then councelling is done on CSAS portal of DU . Different cutoff lists are released and on the basis of your merit and preference you get the college alloted.
Faculty
The faculty is very good . They will help you in every manner whatsoever your problem is . Their are enough teachers to seek help from . They are all well qualified and experienced. Exams happen once in every sem , but class tests/internals take place before the end exams .
