- Campus Infrastructure : The campus infrastructure across most Christ (Deemed to be Universities) are always of top notch. It also has great auditoriums, libraries, seminar halls, and other sports facilities.
- Faculty: The faculty is Christ are mostly just phenomenal . The connection that the students have with the professors are great. They are easy to approach and will always have a lot of insights to provide.
- Campus life: The campus life in Christ will always be happening. There will always be something for someone to do in Christ. There are so many groups and clubs that there will be no issues to fit in to such a college.
Dislikes
- Faculty: While the quality is great for the faculty in Christ, there are some places where they lack such great quality. In many important subjects, sometimes the college is not able to get great quality professors.
- Expensive: The course is definitely pretty expensive. For a course in BBA it seems a little too high and I would agree as well.
- Discipline: For many this can pose as a problem. There are high standards to be met and it can be extremely exhausting.
Course Curriculum Overview
The reason I chose this course was because it was integrated with ACCA. This can be a great way to ensure that you dont waste anytime and can get ahead. The curriculum prepares you for the real world to some extent, but the rest depends upon an indiviual. The co- curricular and extra actvities that one takes can make you ready for the real world. Course curriculum can be improved in the final semesters. It didnt seeem like it was aligned with ACCA towards the end and that was disheartening. The teaching methods are great, many of them put in a good deal of effort and it reflects during the classes. The frequency and timing of exams are not too bad. It can be extremely exhausting but it is manageable.
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearly fee for this course when I joined was 225000 for all the Karnataka students. If there was a non Karnataka student the fees would be 250000 and for students coming from other countries it was 315000. The amount was high because its an integrated course which also equips you to get into the ACCA. While taking admission, there will be a specific amount that one would have to pay, to would not be too high. In 2022, the admission fees was 5000 ruppees. In the case that you don't get in, the amount will not be refunded or anything. It is the amount that the college will take and this happens with many colleges.
Campus Life
There are many college fests ranging from cultural and other fields like management, commerce and business fests. All can be great experiences to grow. The range of books in the libraries are great and can help any student. Every classroom has a projector and good sound systems. It helps keep a class engaged. There are different sort of sports and extracurricular activities that are offered on campus like football, basketball, kabaddi, and so much more.
Admission
I had only applied to Christ as this was my dream college. It also met my requirements of doing ACCA as it also gives a 9 papers exemption. Out of 13 papers, there was 9 papers being exempted and it seemed like the perfect choice. The 9 papers are integrated with the course throughout the years and you don't really miss out on those papers. The admission process is a little challenging and equips you for the real world to some extent. The first round is a exam that tests your logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude, verbal reasoning and accountancy. For anyone pursuing a BBA or Bcom this would ideally be the topics that you would be tested on. Subsequently there will be an interview, that will check how a student is overall and will also be asked some technical questions. During the onterview, the student will also have to give a micropresentation. The cutoff for the exam is not extremely high but you get shortlisted only after the interview. All in all it can be challenging.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio differs from campus to campus but overall the ratio seems to be average. We had a great faculty for Advanced Financial Accounting. The subject is extremely demanding and if it wasn't taught my the right professor it would just become rote learning. Some professors go out of their way to make it easier and such actions can never be forgotten by a student. However, we also had bad experiences with subjects that could hae been dealt well. Entrepreneurship is one subject that could have been a great experience. Unfortunately the expectations were not fulfilled . In a semester there are 3 CIAs and the end semester exam. One of the CIA's is a mid semester exam which is out of 50 marks. The CIA's difficulty can vary from subject to subject. Most of the students clear the exams, unless its an extremely challenging subject then more than 80% of the class passes. The course is pretty relevant to the curriculum.
