What Students Say
Likes
- Liked the faculty. The college is academically oriented and the faculty for political science honours is quite decent.
- The college societies are active and interesting. We get to know about different interships, NGos and opportunities
- People are friendly. The library is good with a special room for studying and there are small garden like spaces in the corrdior which are quite nice.
Dislikes
- Infrastructure- considering the number of students the classrooms and corridor get really packed, hot and humid. There is a serious need for coolers or acs
- The quality of washrooms are also poor and need to be improved.
- Students travel 30 mins to 1 hour and on reaching we learn the classes are cancelled. This is an issue that needs to be fixed as it troubles students alot especially those who live in pgs or live far away from the college
Course Curriculum Overview
The active nature of political science influenced my decision to opt for this course. The curriculum teaches you about history of India political thoughts, ideas and institution and as well as an introduction to political theory. Teachers should be using small mics as high strength of class affects the audio. The classes should also not be cancelled at the last moment
Internships Opportunities
Aarambh organization is one of the ngos that offer internship with govt of India for 6 month to 1 year. This is beneficial as the ngo is registered with NITI aayog. Students get internship for Content writing, social media, financial analyst, design, marketing etc. The highest stiped offered was ?36,480
Placement Experience
In Gargi After completing 5 semesters you become eligible for placements. The Recruiters include Accenture, Delottie, Wipro, KPMG, PwC, Shaw &Co. etc. Higest package was 21 Lakh per annum and average package was 5 Lakh per annum. My plans after getting the degree is not to take a job but rather explore other options or go for masters

• Year wise Fees to be payed is 18015 Rupees • Tution fees is 18015 Rupees Registration fees is 200 Rupees Additional fees for quota is 150 Rupees Caution fees, admission fees and lab fees is not charged.
Campus Life
The annual fest of Gargi is reverie. There are many societies (performing and non performing) most famous being Kshtij, enlivin, enactus, placement cell which are really active. The college has jammers and only airtel network works properly in the campus. The college has other sports activites such as Basketball court Football ground etc. The college also has NSS and NCC further ngos such as aarambh organization are also present
Admission
On my cuet preference list Gargi College was my 8th preference. I chose this college over others because of the positive reviews I had read. It was one of the top 10 colleges for political science. Apart from Delhi University I had applied to OP Jindal as a backup. I didn't go to OP jindal because I already got into Delhi University. In order to get into Delhi University you have to clear the cuet examination. The eligibility criteria differs for different courses The general eligibility criteria is 1 Language+ 2 Subjects from B1 + 1 subject from either B1 or B2. There are other courses such as Bcom honours economics honours that require maths. The cutoff for Gargi college political science for general category this year was 734 which fell to 728 in the next round
Faculty
The student teacher ratio is high with classes such as political science having strength beyond 70. This is a problem for both students and teachers. Political Science faculty is good with active and understanding teachers.
