Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course is a very creative course in terms of working and experience my decision for this experience was because my liking in building but this course a lot more than that. The course not only in this college but every college in india is very outdated and needs revision for the field work. The entire course should revised in every single college of architecture as field is very different compared to what is taught in college some of base fundamental aspects help not it still needs revision for working. The exams are not very frequent two minor exams in theory and two major exams in theory in a year and two major portfolio review in studio works .

Placement Experience

2.5

Students need to qualify the course in order in get working license by council of architecture otherwise students can't pursue the field. Confluence, morphogenesis,l&t and Atkins are major field players that offered placements many offers were made . 8 lpa was taken in highest as only currently the campus have started placement avg. Package is anything between 3-6 lpa . 20% takes placement through college rest prefer other companies for working. I already have the degree and working as a professional architect in a renowned firm as well as doing my own personal projects alongside.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees was rs. 64000 per year and there were no extra charges that have ever taken apart from that ,a registration fees of Rs 5000 and a security amount of rs. 5000 was taken at the time of admission. admission can only be taken on the merit basis and there were no scholarship given by the college students can avail government scholarships based on their merits on college scores every year. The fees structure for every student was exact same there were no difference of any sort. But the fact that the fees is increasing every year for all new admissions but it remains constant after admission for all the students afterwards at which they took admission in the college.

Campus Life

3

The USAP has only one diwali fest and name changes every year as per theme but ggsipu holds a great feat named anugoonj once a year. The USAP campus have nearly every book a student of architecture can ever need including previous year students thesis and dissertation for reference working. The new campus have improved the overall requirement of a student significantly and working of the students in need to learn . Campus as doesn't offer any activities as such but there are many societies made for the growth of students in sports, dance and other fields as well. NASA is a group that is made every year that conduct works for various national competitions and the campus have very good name in the national level competitions.

Admission

Colleges I applied - op jindal ,mbs school of architecture, bhagwan mahavir college of architecture and SPA, DELHI I chose this college only because it's one of the best college in the field that has a renowned name and is in list top architecture school in india . I wasn't able to get SELECTED IN SPA, delhi because of my score in jee second exams. The exams competition for this college is very high. Eligibility - 10+2 in PCM with compulsory maths + passing score in NATA exam for this college. JEE SECOND EXAM AND NATA ARE exams that are compulsory all india exams for pursuing the course . NATA IS most preferred by students as Nata is gateway to lots of college around the whole india. Whether JEE SECOND EXAM can get you in IIT , NIT and spa for admission although many private college takes jee second exam as well. The cutoff for exams are going up every year now and admission experience can be hectic as there is not all india portals like jee mains and neet for admission.

Faculty

3.5

There are various subjects combination of design studio works as well as theory subjects the design studio always required 1:10 ratio of faculty to students and theory subject can be taken by a single faculty . The faculty are always helpful and approachable but sometimes it can be a matter of ego for markings and design ideas. The best faculties I have during by college years were ar. Anurag giri he was my thesis mentor my guide and someone I can still rely in working even after graduating if u want to be the best version of an architect be only under him . Secondly prof. Akhil das he is the one who can defend you and help you in worst case scenarios and help you get out of the messup easily. Prof. Neha pareek she helped really great extent from a student who didn't knew what to do to someone who got one of the best dissertations. The studio exams are very hard to crack as u have to work every day for that one the contrary minimum efforts on theory can help in pass.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In the forst year the faculty will make you do completely dumb and irrelevant stuff which is mostly not related to the real life. You will surely feel like and think in a way that why you are doing all this, but slowly the curriculum will get difficult and would have real world applications. In the starting you should improve your drafting and most importantly you should procastinate your work and should learn the importance of time management.

The professors are from good colleges themselves and the teaching methodology is that of an experienced person in the feild. Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it is very practical, you don't have to be in class, you can go out, explore and learn. I love to draw and design. The faculty-student ratio is 1:40 Teachers are good and helpful .they all are architects and everyone has a totally different view of your design. There are 2 semesters, so 4 unit tests and 2 yearly exams, the theory exams are fine but the practical ones where you have to present your work in front of a juror are tough. it is not necessary if they'll like your design or not .so they can give you fewer marks.

Remarks:

Overall, there are lots of negative remarks on SPA DELHI. They do not even provide basic facilities for the fees they take. Even what little facilities that exists are very poorly maintained. The lifts does not work more often than not, the coolers for drinking water are outdated and filters unchanged, fire extinguishers outdated, poor parking facilities, no grounds for sports related activities, no air conditioners in the classroom for the unbearable Delhi heat, very poor provision of funds, non-existent placement cells, and the lists goes on.
