Course Curriculum Overview

3

I liked the course because it's quite interesting and application based. The curriculum prepares us both for theoretical and practical knowledge for future academic pursuits. We can continue in the research field with the subject. Also, there are certain jobs available too. The exams are taken internally once or twice in a single semester along with the main exam taken in the end.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year-wise fees is ?22923.75 for this course. For other categories, the year-wise fees are totally the same. No such scholarships were provided from college. Advance fees taken were ?16945. Total fees for the 4 yr course is ?91695.

Campus Life

2.5

Celebrations are done on various occasions and the students are responsible for organising it. The books are available and we can borrow it with a issued library card. Projectors are available for teaching purpose. Seperate student groups are made for other important announcements. The campus life is good and different facilities are available.

Admission

I chose other colleges like Sarojini Naido Women's College, Lady Brabourne College, Bethune College etc. I got a chance to get admitted in Sarojini Naido Women's College but I preferred my present college due to better course and distance from my home. In colleges like Lady Brabourne College and Bethune College, I didn't get a chance to get admitted. The cutoff was high and I didn't make it. The admission was done through West Bengal Portal this year on the basis of Class 12 marks.

Faculty

3.5

For the course of Molecular biology and biotechnology, there are 4 professors present in the major. In average, there are around 30-35 students in this course. The faculties are really approachable and helpful. There are exams per semester. In one year, there are two such exams taken. Along with it, internal exams are also conducted. The course I've taken is a growing sector with a lot of opportunities in-hand. The subject is interrelated with the medical field and other such fields( vaccine manufacturing).

Other Applied Colleges

Sarojini Naidu College for Women-[SNCW] | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Zoology)

Quiet far away from home, no appropriate hostel facilities that I wanted

Course Curriculum Overview:

I've always found economics to be really interesting and thats why I choose to persue it. I wanted to dive deep into the actual concepts and workings of the economy and understand how the world works from an economist's point of view. Sadly the curriculam doesnt bridge the gap between theory and real life. It focuses heavily on textbook and not how the world works.

The Physical Chemistry faculties are the best I got, that influenced me to carry forward my research carrier in Physical Chemistry. The curriculum for the Physical and Inorganic chemistry are upto the mark and I felt improvement in teaching style and curriculum is required for Organic Chemistry part. The difficulty of Internal examination can be improved a bit.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course is good but you have to opt for masters and PhD to get a good placement. After bsc there's not any placement. The curriculum was basically practical and theoretical based. But I think it should be more practical so that we can get a job after doing bsc. The teaching method was good I didn't have any problem with that. As it was under Calcutta University so the exam questions were too difficult, sometimes it came out of our syllabus , i think they should change this a little bit .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus for BSc. Microbiology Hons. was in line with my interests. Few topics like virology, bacteriology, and diversity of the microbial workd are what drew my attention to pick this course. Although there are some portions which one would consider "boring", but I believe every subject has its interesting as well as boring portions. It's seems fair to judge a subject by seeing if the "boring" portions outweigh the "interesting" parts or not.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In terms of relevance and comprehensiveness of the course curriculum, my rating is solid 4.1 out of 5. Because it offers a variety of courses like compulsory english, environmental science, constitution values of India, Inter Disciplinary Courses where one can opt for a variety of subjects which change along with the course proceeds or semester changes. Not only that two major papers and one minor paper are present throughout the semester. As a student we should be well aware of our country and its law as well as how we can keep our environment healthy followed by sustainable development.
